Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Blackest Night would never work in the DCCU. The whole premise is bringing back a ton of dead characters. They've barely got enough characters on screen as it is, let alone enough to kill off only to bring back as zombies. I don't think we'll ever see that outside of an animated film. Maybe in the Arrowverse if they ever get GL on the show. I'd love to see it done though.

True, but it could be that some people could have already existed. I mean Batman has been at it for 20 years. Superman was the only huge thing because his existence is the reason for Zod attacking Earth.

But yeah, it would go very much like Civil War. That's why I like the DCEU, because you don't really know who has been at it, or who has died. Plenty of ways to go about it. That's why I can get behind Sirens possibly introducing Birds or any other villain.

we might be getting something close to it in the end game, especially after all the hints that knightmare sequence in BvS gave us.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

perhaps incohesive was the wrong word but the structure of the movie is very bad. it doesnt flow well and it it has unnecessary scenes like some of the intros but then they cut important scenes out, they repeat the same information different times and becomes clumsy.
but it IS beautiful to watch.

this vid really really nails it down

Loved that video. Thanks for reposting it.

He nailed it, he really did. The Raiders analogy is particularly apt and explains why I felt that the pacing and editing in this movie was so listless and aimless especially in its first act, and that had a pretty big knock-on effect because I didn't even realise that the mission that they were going on was actually going to be the whole movie.

With 2016 coming to an end, IMDb has revealed its list of the most popular movies of the year, which includes five of this year’s six superhero movies (unfortunately, Doctor Strange didn’t make the cut), with David Ayer’s Suicide Squad at the very first spot.

Here’s the full list:

1.Suicide Squad

2.Captain America: Civil War

3.Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

4. Deadpool

5. X-Men: Apocalypse

6. The Jungle Book

7. The Magnificent Seven

8. Ghostbusters

9. Warcraft

10. The Legend of Tarzan

Let the movie have it :( the movie has been through enough.

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

SS and BvS

Hated so much yet still top 10 box office.

What's gonna happen when WB makes a 'good' DCU movie?

Re: DC's "Suicide Squad" (August 5th, 2016)

Does this list also have a goatee and is from the mirror universe, because I call serious shenanigans with SS, BvS, and GB on the list.
