He looks a lot like Cable though. And I'm sure he can bulk up a bit. Besides, armor and pouches can do wonder. He can be both funny and scary though, which is the most important part. I prefer him to the "PUNCH PEOPLE IN THE FACE-IN THE FACE-FACE" guy.

Shannon's a powerhouse. He's also 6'4".

If he's cast he'll need to put on an absurd amount of muscle.

Don't think he's right for the role even if he is ten times the actor Harbour is.

That's not the Cable I remember, but that does look like Shannon.

Look at those arms though.

No suit or armor is going to make him look big enough.

Shannon was great as Zod, but his long skinny neck coming out of the Kryptonan armor made him look like a turtle.

Eh, count me as one who can't see Shannon as Cable either... even though he is a good actor.

I think there's better physical choices: Jon Hamm, Ray Stevenson, Eric Dane, or even Gerard Butler

Hamm is perfect for Tony Stark. I won't stand and see him wasted as Cable!

by the time we get a new Tony Stark, Hamm will probably be pushing 60.

I don't think they are going to recast Tony any time soon... probably have him pass the mantle to someone else and be the new Nick Fury type of character (if Marvel wants to continue paying him)

The more I think about Shannon as Cable the more conflicted I get.

The Pros

-Tremendous actor (should have won Best Supporting Actor last month for Nocturnal Animals).
-6'4"
-American
-Caucasian
-Is incredibly menacing onscreen despite being pretty skinny

Cons

-Too young for Cable at 43
-Might struggle with being attached to the role for the next 10+ years (he wanted out of Boardwalk Empire after Season 1)
-Never played a badass in the vein of Lang or Gibson or Lundgren (the archetypes)

Yeah, I know, but... it'd surely be nice... MCU Stark (or current 616 Stark for that matter) ain't my Stark, so I don't really care what they do. When a reboot rolls around, we'll see. I just pray we don't get anyone from the Tumblr fancasts (Riz Ahmed as Tony, for example).

I remember I used to like their designs a lot, if I were to get a mcFarlane figure at this point it would be their 2pack, even if they're just statues, but even if I got it new the plastic is probably rotting at this point.
