Yup, it looks pretty amazing. It reminded me of Inception. It's going to be interesting to see how they do all the alternate realities and dimensions and all that crazy stuff. I hope he's not depowered like they did with Thor and Ultron. The dude is the Sorcerer Supreme...one of the most power character in Marvel comics...well, classic Dr. Strange was, not sure about the current version.

I don't think it's been announced yet but most people think he's playing Dormammu.

No way that's Dormammu. If it is...that's a total design fail.

Easily my most anticipated comic movie this year. Be interesting if they fast track The Ancient Ones "death" in this film so he is proclaimed our Sorcerer Supreme by the end. Mads Mikkelsen I'm sure will be his typical bad ass self. Next trailer after they get more VFX done is going to truly show the scope of this movie I'm sure.

Mads' character has been described as a former student of the Ancient One who started his own sect, so he's most definitely not Dormammu. Nicodemus West is a name I've heard, and with a bit of twisiting, it could work.

Great trailer BTW. As a big Doctor Strange fan, I'm glad to see they're embracing the weirdenss of his world, astral projections and all. I'm not expecting to see Rintrah in the Sanctum Sanctorium, but I bet we'll greeted by lots of Marvel's SPN stuff.

She is the Ancient One.

Overall, very excited about the movie. Trailer really had a good look on what to expect. Definitely very different from what Marvel usually puts out.

Well, considering Doctor Strange has been a trippy-AF comic since his introduction in the 60s, I wouldn't say so...

The last one isn't from Strange IIRC, but it's Ditko, and Ditko is always a pleasure to post!

PS: If I hear any "they're ripping-off Begins with the training thing" ****e, I'm gonna (cyber) cut some mother****er! That's been Strange's origin since his very first appearance!

I was going to post that about Begins. From an non-fan/outsiders point of view it looks like a Nolan/Begins/Inception movie.

It's still a false assumption though. Strange did the whole "Westerner goes to study in the East under a mythical figure" thing decades before. And besides, Inception was at least inspired from the anime Paprika, and the Matrix was essentially Morisson's "The Invisibles". Nothing is "original" anymore. But Strange's origin is in no way the rip-off this time.

I'll be honest, I know nothing about the source material for this so on first viewing all I thought was that it looked like Begins/Inception. I'm sure fans of the character will love this but for me the trailer just didn't seem like anything we haven't seen before in recent movies.

Eh, fair enough, different strokes for different folks. But it's Inception/Begins/Matrix that are "stealing" from Doctor Strange's mythos/visuals, and not the reverse.
