Well sure, the visuals should be colourful and since Fiege compared it to Fantasia I'm sure they will be, but the character of Doctor Strange is rather bleak.

Right on man!

Hey, it wouldn't be a message board if we couldn't bash something after seeing just 1 minute of unfinished footage from it.

Yeah whatever- people tore BvS a new one on a 90 second trailer....if this were a DC film there would be no end to the severity of comments.....
However whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside:lol

People tore it a new one when they showed Wonder Woman, the Trinity and Doomsday all in the same trailer. And they did that cause it gave away the whole movie. The first teaser was universally loved, even at goddamn CBM, which is filled with the worst of fanboys.

oh come on! I know its just a minute of the unfinished film blah blah. They clearly made a teaser to give away the whole vibe of the movie, and the whole vibe isn't exactly amazing. If you took away that marvel logo this doesn't look much different then something like the divergent series, or some other random sci-fi/ action movie that tanks every year.

Well that was disappointing. That effect with doctor strange leaving his body after being hit by swinton was pretty bad. The origin stuff looks straight up boring. I don't know much about Dr. Strange, but this doesn't look to be the huge otherworldly risk most people were mking it out to be. The buildings moving looked pretty cool, very inception-y though. Does any one know if he gets those leopard gloves in the movie? I used to have a marvel legends action figure of him and was obsessed with it.

Marvel ripping off Nolan ( a DC man!!) :lol

but but but it's Marvel..........don't criticize!:rotfl

And every super-hero film can be summarized as, "Hero beats up bad guy, day is saved", yet we all go watch them. Damn, just wait until you see a full trailer witth finished footage, geez.

No I don't think they're ripping off Nolan at all :lecture I was just saying a big shtick in the trailer seems to be the "buildings moving" thing. Which I think a whole lot of people will agree with, is reminiscent of Inception.

being sarcastic again...it does look Inception-ist

This already looks like it's going to be another movie thread I'm going to avoid because of the same ******** that's infected the others.

alright alright, I get it. Nobody likes to see negative things written about films they are very excited about. Especially when the trailer was just released. (I get the feeling, BVS is still an open wound). But I was around last night refreshing the internet for the trailer because I was excited, and I was just posting my initial reaction. But don't just lie to yourself about this trailer being all that interesting. (of course it's all a matter of opinion, so that's great and all if it really is your cup o tea.) It's an amazing accomplishment just getting doctor strange on the big screen.

Not all of them.

But for the most part, you're exactly correct.

Word. It's like you can't go anywhere without reading the same crap.

That I get, and it's perfectly understandable. Different strokes for different folks, I get it. But Doctor Strange being called an Inception/Begins rip-off doesn't fly with me, because Begins stole the origin, and Doctor Strange had the trippy visuals first, in the damn 60s. Besides, the "Inception" scene in the trailer was probably meant to showcase how other dimensions work, as it's very similar to a 4D Tesseract.

There's nothing to get truly up or down yet. It's the first rough teaser for a movie that's 7 months away from theaters

yeah but I was just judging it by the trailer. Idk, I have thing for trailers. Trailers are super cool and part of the overall experience. Trailers, being so short, Have an advantage of grabbing attention with visuals and music rather than a huge script. I think its a great opportunity to be creative.

Tough crowd! I thought it looked good. I like the tone and the Inception-like visuals. I'm just curious to see how it all ties in to the rest of the Marvel Universe.

Now with Strange onboard plus all the gems Marvel can now kill as many primary heroes as they please for emotional effect then just snap their fingers and all will be well again.

Lets do it, i'm stoked! :lol

I agree it would've been nice to see a glimpse of other dimensions and some magick being tossed around, but they literally JUST finished filming and getting into the post production work. I was barely expecting any of the visuals we saw. Now I'm a huge fan boy and can remember being a little kid in the 80s going from video store to video store trying get my hands on the 70s tv Dr Strange because the comics were among my favorites, so I'm definitely biased. But I think this trailer will at the bare minimum get comic fans talking and the next trailer should get everyone else on board once we see other world Ditko introduced us to. There's zero chance they don't pay homage to him and give us the trippy visuals he brilliantly drew in the 60s and most definitely will be showcased in trailer #2.
