I dont know.. how COULD she come back..? "Shes not just living on a parallel world Jack, shes trapped there. The walls have closed." Only thing I can think of is a cameo or something where they have to go back before the series took place and we see Rose in the background or something. Orrrr maybe the Time Lords resurge and allow the Doctor one trip across the void or something. I actually wish instead of Torchwood we got "Capt Jack" or something like that and we could have seen when he would go around and watch Rose grow up. Would have been MUCH more interesting watching the Man Who Cant Die get hit with that stray javelin then see Owen trying to be 3 dimensional.

:mwaha :mwaha Yea, I would much rather have had that type of series about captain jack. Torchwood just doesn't fly for me, oh well. I do like the arc where captain jack can't die, but I think I remember towards the end of torchwood, didn't jack lose his ability to not die? I thought I remembered that.

No, otherwise Jack would have been :

Dead when he landed at the end of the Universe
Connected the cables
went into the gravity chamber

The first idea: Walt Disney probably has every variation of that title locked down in copyright:

The second idea: Sounds an awful lot like this guy's shtick:

As long as we're batting around ideas for how Rose could come back, maybe a powerful creature of some kind could trap The Doctor in some sort of utopia world where everything is just as he wants it. We could get to see Gallifrey and the Doctor would still be travelling with Rose because she'd have never got trapped on parallel earth and the Daleks would be blasted out of all existence.

Of course the powerful being would have some sort of hidden agenda for giving the Doctor everything he ever wanted. Maybe to keep him out of the way whilst he pulls some kind of evil scheme, which the Doctor would uncover but have to give up his "perfect world" to stop from happening.

I could only see Rose returning in something like that. Not her actual character, but some sort of manifestation of her. Either the doctor dreaming, hallucinating, or someone/something creating an illusion of her for some nefarious purpose. Now that I think about it, I really didn't like her character much, she was a bit of a whiner. I think Martha is a little better character, at least a whole lot smarter; which they really haven't shown yet.

That reminds me of the Superman story :

For the Man Who Has Everything by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons published in Superman Annual #11 December 1985.

Plot

Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman visit the Fortress of Solitude on Superman's birthday, only to find him in a vegetative state, a large alien plant stuck to his chest, its tendrils wrapped around his body. As they analyze the situation, making educated guesses about its origin and function, the alien Mongul steps into the scene, revealing the name of the plant (the "Black Mercy") and how it has put Superman into a coma, feeding him an extremely realistic and plausible dream based on his "heart's desire". As he explains, Mongul puts on a large pair of gauntlets, which apparently allow him to touch the Mercy without risking being attacked by it. Interspersed with these "real" scenes are pages of Superman's dream of living a normal life on his long-destroyed home planet of Krypton, using his birth name of Kal-El and happily married with two children.

While Wonder Woman battles Mongul, whose power is quickly shown to exceed hers, Batman and Robin try to free Superman. Superman's fantasy, meantime, takes a dark turn as, to maintain the plausibility of the scenario, his father Jor-El's prediction of Krypton's doom (in this fantasy, unfulfilled) has led to him being discredited, which leaves him embittered. The Kryptonian society within the dream is undergoing political upheaval, with Jor-El becoming chairman of an extremist reactionary movement called the Sword of Rao which calls for a return to Krypton's "noble and unspoiled" past, which incidentally includes the time he was considered the planet's greatest scientist. A major point of contention in the political struggle is the use of the Phantom Zone, Krypton's other-dimensional prison system, developed by Jor-El and thus making the House of El unpopular. Kal-El's cousin, Kara Zor-El, has been brutally assaulted by anti-Zone protesters, who use the criminal Jax-Ur as martyr and symbol.

Superman gradually begins to "wake up" from the increasingly disturbing dream, with it finally dissolving with a scene of his "son", Van-El, slipping away from him. In combination, Batman has resorted to simply trying to pry the Mercy off of Superman's chest. Without protective clothing, the plant immediately attacks him, putting Batman into his "heart's desire" dream, in which the major traumatic event of his life, witnessing his parents' murder, is foiled and he instead grows into a contented adulthood with a wife and daughter. Superman takes several seconds to recover and, infuriated by both the Mercy's attack and the loss of the fantasy (as Mongul later describes, "escaping it must have been like tearing off your own arm"), savagely retaliates against Mongul, who was about to finish off the defeated Wonder Woman. The two adversaries battle across the Fortress, causing massive damage to it. Meanwhile, Robin puts on Mongul's protective gauntlets and pries the Mercy off of Batman. Thinking quickly, he stuffs the Mercy into one of the oversized gloves, allowing him to safely carry it as he runs toward the continuing battle. Superman, on the verge of delivering a crushing blow to Mongul, becomes distracted by the sight of the large statues he long-ago built of his parents, allowing Mongul to deliver a stunning counterattack. Mongul is on the verge of killing Superman when Robin drops the Mercy on him. Mongul is instantly seized by the plant and submerged into his own deepest fantasy, in which he swats the Mercy aside, kills Robin, then Superman, then conquers the universe.

The master is a bit mental, i think. We finally got to see Galifra (right spelling?) i like how they had timelords wearing those big collars.
Saxon referances start in ep12 of tourchwood, theres a poster on the door of the theater. Then the tanks in the Christmas Bride, the get the order to fire from Saxon, which is cool as he was minister of defence.
That sky fortress is sraight from Captain Scarlet and there was Unit aswell.
RTS mentioned there would somethin else from the past for season 4.
Don,t have a clue whats going to happen next week.

The shot near the end with Martha overlooking the city was spectacular...the preview for next week looks awesome

Pointless apperances from Sharon Osbourne & McFly aside tonight's show was great,it even had a little nod to Tom Baker's Doctor when The Master sat munching jelly babies :lol .
This series has been very inconsistent but the last two episodes have been excellent and built to what looks like being a decent finale.

I agree. So McFly, no idea who they are, British Band??? Anyway, I thought the episode was great. Great to finally see Gallifrey and poor TARDIS, hope it survives. Looks to be a great season finale next week.

I liked it, the Gallifrey moment was the highlight of the episode. What's also interesting was how carefully plotted the story line was. While the episodes themselves may have had plotholes the overall arch seems fairly solid connecting A to B to C. Can't wait to see how it ends!

Mmmm, Billi Piper..mmmmm. Anyway, that's what I like about Who. The subtle hints dropped here and there for the season finale are always great to see. I rewatch every episode after that just to see what little bits I can see that lead up to the finale. Going to rewatch all the episode to get all the saxon references.

I liked the part when Martha says somethign like: "It's like when you fancy someone and they don't even know you exist..." Then Captain Jack goes "You too huh?" that was hilarious.

It was interesting though that UNIT now has a flying fortress? Sheesh, I was halfway expecting to see David Hasselhoff appear out of nowhere reprising his role as Nick Fury.

If would be nuts if the flying metal spheres were Time Lords. The Time Lords made a bargain with the Master - we will give you your regenerations back IF you save us if the Time War goes wrong. The Master was lying to The Doctor when they were on the phone ("All of them? Gone?") and tipped his hand when he told The Doctor "I'd tell you, but it would it break your hearts." The only way to ressurrect the Gallifreyans is to give them a host body, and to survive they had to construct metal machines to house their essence, becoming the enemy they fought. Then the doctor would have to choose between human and the time lords possessing humans. Of course he would choose humans, but it would interesting if it were to happen.

Mmm , I think you could be on to something there . The Master wanted precisely 1/10th of the population decimated , pretty specific , don't you think? I particularly liked the reference to The Master being a "secret brother". Seeing as the internet fanboys have been speculating on this for the entire season ( if not longer) , it was handled (and dismissed) brilliantly .

Well a killing of 1/10 of a people IS the definition of decimation...

McFly are a ****ty UK band who have among other things slaughtered the Queen song "Don't Stop Me Now" and were the 3 guys that appeared after Sharon Osbourne saying "Vote Saxon!".
I thought the new baddies were OK but could have been better designed as they looked too close to the Death Star torture droid or even the training remote from ANH for my liking and I half expected the Doctor & co to bust out lightsabers and start hacking them to bits :lol

Sadly I wouldn't have minded that too much. I mean the master had a Laser Screwdriver, that's almost close to a lightsaber...:lol :lol

Personally, my thought about the spheres is they are some form of Dalek. Pop it open, see the goo inside.
Easily the most hard-core ep of the new series. I was so-so on the first half of the season, but from "Human Nature" they've been back on top. I can't wait for Sunday morning (my usual time for watching downloaded Doctor Who.)
