Well I watched it earlier this evening with my family, my eldest daughter (7) was captivated from start to finish, kept telling us all to 'Shuuussshhhh!!!!'.

I enjoyed it, but it was as derivative as ever (thanks Lara Croft) I just keep hoping RTD will pull something spectacular out of the bag, however its always just kind of OK!

(though I did like the library episode last year... 'who turned out the lights' etc).

rad.. still downloading mine... guess i'll have to watch it tomorrow.

Just got State of Decay on DVD though so maybe I'll just watch that tonight.

I enjoy RTD Doctor Who but that was just rubbish. Four hours left and they waste one of them doing nothing.

My 12 year old niece told me it was great but I guess kids are easily pleased and I was out running when it was on so I can't really comment any further.

Great episode! Can't wait for "Waters of Mars" - the preview looked fantastic! :rock

I had no idea the TARDIS was stolen... Are there any stories that explain how/when the TARDIS was stolen and why the Time Lords allowed The Doctor to keep it? I know the Time Lords deactivated the TARDIS during his third incarnation as punishment, but why didn't they just take it back?

The last episode of The War Games should answer all your questions, although it rewrites the various season one hints that the Doctor fled in a political cataclysm.

It's implied several times during the Pertwee era the Time Lords let the Doctor keep the TARDIS because they needed to be able to use him as an agent when necessary. Later during the Tom Baker period it's further implied the TARDIS was of little interest to the Time Lords because it's a hopelessly outdated piece of junk.

iirc it was said in the classic series. no clue why they let renegade timelords keep their TARDIS.
For that matter what about the bad renegade timelords? why would anyone let the Master or the Rani keep theirs?

Intresting,I'd noticed a few references in various 3rd and 4th Doctor stories so I'll get a better understanding of them when The War Games comes out on region 2 DVD later this year :rock

It seems evident the Time Lords have no more control over a third party TARDIS than you do a stolen car. This changes briefly in '70s but the implication is they monkeyed with the Doctor's TARDIS during The War Games.

Great! Thanks! Though it looks like there is no region 1 DVD available yet.

It should be out on DVD by the end of the year.

Just finished watching it in HD and I loved it. Me and my boys had a great time watching it. I got chills at the end when the lady tells him about the 4 knocks and the preview of The Waters of Mars looked great too!
