Got my replacement in this morning and just want to echo what Geil and a few others have reported, the troubled part of the shirt has been swapped to a hard plastic now, it feels like the same material as his chest armor, you tap it and get a hard plastic sound, no flexibility to it, the rest of the shirt and suit are still rubber though. While I hate to jinx myself just getting this thing back, I do feel the same as others getting this newest version of the body, that the problem could finally be solved. Unless the oil's a biproduct of the paint, I can't see the abs on this body developing the problem, it's hard plastic, the shoulder pads and chest pieces weren't a problem. I can't be certain, but I also feel like the bicep plates are also a harder material now, so maybe with some luck, HT finally wised up to the material they initially used being crap and moved on as they should have from the get go.

They took too god damn friggin long. Nearly May now. I'd say Hot Toys are slow as hell with dealing with things.

I wouldn't say time was an issue, I said all along, I'd wait for them to come up with a solution, the lousy communication, the run arounds, the half-assed early replacements and all the new return/replacement policies is the real BS. If they had just said, we're sorry, there's a problem with the material, we're going to work on fixing it, once we have, we'll offer replacements for those who received defective figures, then all would have been fine, I think everyone would have been ok waiting a few months with some assurances of resolution, but HT went the very complicated and frustrating route so it's been an ugly few months for everyone.

Even to this day it's never been acknowledged except on forums through customers.

Hot Toys are acting exactly like politicians.

Well it's a con. Just like how politicians con things the way of doing it.

Now that people see there is a solution now they are still going to see about getting a replacement. So whether they admitted or duck and dived there's going to be a huge amount of bodies messed up upon arrival back to their premises.

Thing is, HT's setting themselves up to deal with this as minimally as possible for current owners, the 30 day policies and now the 1 replacement policy, which means someone like Eddie Wong who got a half-assed replacement won't be entitled to a good one if this really pans out.

That's why, for anyone getting this replacement body or DCD figures which should have it, I hope there's a show of respect and consideration for everyone that's struggled over that last few months trying to get something out of HT or getting shafted by them, great if they get problem free figures but they should have sympathy for those HT's screwed over.

Even if i bought from a dealer would HT be prepared to swap this considering its faulty if i contact them direct?

It's a 50/50 shot, HT hasn't been jumping to replace these, all you can do is try contacting them, see if it gets you anywhere, if not, try your dealer.

Maul, it's sad at the end of the day that it's really proven Hot Toys are officially d!*ks. I can't believe Hot Toys has ended up like nearly every other corporation. Greedy asswipes that have no respect for their customers from whom the customers that put them there.

ok i will do might aswell, can you point me in the right direction please of how i start this process?

thanks

Still odd most of the ones that never or no longer having problems have nothing to say about it anymore or any updates or anything.

I'm still puzzled why the two lower plates were the only ones that oozed. Or what caused it to ooze. Not that those clowns at Hot Toys would tell us.

Does the new DCD "fix" even address the leaky biceps?

I can't remember who it was but someone got this new body back from Toys2 with the new abs but the biceps were oozing a few days later. Not as bad but still oozing.

Well, I'm sure some folks have written this off or accepted it and opted to just move on. I might have, but I'm a big Nolan Batman fan and I wanted to have this figure, just problem free.

As for the issue itself, don't forget, it varied how much and where, which was a big problem in our self diagnosis, there was no consistency to it at all, how much of the residue was there, how many plates were affected, which is why I agreed with the idea that it had something to do with the treatment of the material and the ones less affected were probably close to 100% properly handled where the really bad ones weren't even close.
