Well, I'm sure some folks have written this off or accepted it and opted to just move on. I might have, but I'm a big Nolan Batman fan and I wanted to have this figure, just problem free.

As for the issue itself, don't forget, it varied how much and where, which was a big problem in our self diagnosis, there was no consistency to it at all, how much of the residue was there, how many plates were affected, which is why I agreed with the idea that it had something to do with the treatment of the material and the ones less affected were probably close to 100% properly handled where the really bad ones weren't even close.

Thanks Sean :D

Well I gues Urban Collectors was right when they told me the DCD release was fixed and not to worry. I will still wait a month to see how every one with the replacement has no issues.

Question:
With this issue potentially solved in the DC Direct shipment. How can we tell the difference between the earlier release and the DC direct shipment?
Is there normally a change to the box or anything visual to look out for?

The only difference you'll notice is the stomach is hard plastic instead of rubber.

Yea, that is what I am worried about. Toys2 has sporadically been getting in new DX batmans over the last few months, and I am worried that if I order one in when they become available again, if they will truly be from the dc direct shipment or one of the faulty earlier runs.

Talk to Toys2, see if they can clear up what they might be getting, that's my only tip. Would BBTS cost you to much to order from them, they're DCD.

I have been in and out of this thread. But, let me ask: Sean, is it safe to go ahead and order one from BBTS , assuming they get the DC Direct batch? Is it pretty much confirmed that the US release is problem free?

Thanks bud.

I don't feel safe enough to say confirmed, but the stomach's made of hard plastic now, I just can't imagine how this could leak anything.

Very true, but in my experiences once a figure crosses the border into Canada, customs officers can charge you whatever they feel like and call it "duties". I take a chance in that it could be $20 or $100 more...if I was charged no more than 13% extra I could live with it though.

Meh, if it means moving product, he could tell me whatever I want to hear in order to sell the figure. I just might take the hit and order BBTS.

Thanks Sean. So, they did address the problem then though? They should offer everyone that has purchased one already a free replacement. That would be very decent of Hot Toys.

it used t be real bad when UPS could charge whatever they want for brokerage on top of it all but at least htat seems to have gotton better though still I rather know what I am paying in total upfront than take my chances anymore :p Besides buying everything from Toys2 has made me hopefully his VIP :D

So customs charge wouldn't be flat, it's a roll of the dice, that's lame.

Ha...very interesting point... In theory, charges are supposed to be regulated, but, it does not always pan out that way when it finally arrives at your door. At that point you either pay whatever they ask or refuse the package. There is also a long and intentionally difficult process for you to make a claim to receive your money back, but it takes time and far too much effort.

Actually I like to believe he is a standup guy and would not do that. As long as you tell him what exactly you want he won't try to pull a fast one on you.

Actually it seems like they are. I just got an email from them saying that I could get a replacement. I thought that I was not eligible for one since mine was not that bad at all. For everyone saying how they think Hot Toys should offer everyone a free replacement. I say email them and try. What's the worst that could happen? They say no? From a business perspective openly saying that you'll replace everyone's body would be a dumb move on their part since they would spend a lot of money replacing everyone's body. So I'm not surprised they're not saying anything. But it seems they are very lenient about replacing them. So email them and try even if you've already gotten a replacement.

I agree, I like knowing what I am spending and cutting out any surprises. Nothing is worse than when an expensive package arrives at your door, and you have to run for your wallet to pay the mailman even more.

Hey Toys2 VIP:lol. Find out if Toys2 is receiving a DC direct shipment. :joy

That's messed up, almost sounds like extortion.
