So, before I go ahead and place another pre-order for this figure, will the DC Direct batch have a fixed head as well?

I was looking at some pictures and the neck on some of them is way too long.

The neck is standard, that's not going to change, so if you're bothered by the neck then you may not want to buy the figure. Some people have modified the necks and it's no easy task, but in terms of the one shipping from Hot Toys, they're not doing anything with it, all they've done is fix problems. Some heads warped form bad molds and they threw them out, some paint was flaking off the first figures going out in the HK and they fixed that and now the shirt oozing has been dealt with by changing that part of the shirt to plastic.

Sean, in you're opinion, is it that noticeable (long neck) in person? Do you mind it?

It's noticable, doesn't bother me so much seeing the figure on display as it does trying to take photos. On display, you see all of him at once and the neck becomes a small thing, in photos, especially closer up, it stands out much more. I wouldn't not get the figure over the neck, I'll put it that way.

What are the mods that can be made to the neck to improve it?

It's either intentional or sloppy structure within their company, and the bottom line is customers are getting the short end of the stick, when in theory, it's avoidable.

If I had to pick between the 2, I'd go with sloppy.

But you're right. The customers are getting the short end of the stick, which is really unfortunate.

well said MF. once you see the figure as a whole, the neck problem becomes minute.

the one thing bothering me now is the cape. strings of line on the seams are coming off. just a bit. :angelsmil

That's why you get one of lforigno's capes. They're pretty lol, but I dont know how they would do since the clips don't really go into the DX Batman the way they do with the V1. Or maybe it's just the way the factory cape is. I haven't switched my capes yet because I'm waiting on the DCD release to do it. The one I have right now is going back to Hot Toys so I dont want to waste the time and switch it over now.

We could just give HT the benefit of the doubt rather than imputing bad motives to them. It all seems very shady (especially the whole 1 replacement only thing) but I'd rather try to view them in a good light because I love their product. I actually think it's likely that they are trying to do their best to please their customers and be smart business people at the same time. With an unexpected failure like this, I'm sure it's a huge headache for them as it makes this balance very very difficult.

This is likely one of the most absurd posts I've ever read. Give them the benefit of the doubt? They clearly know there was a major issue because they assured DCD the problem was fixed. They clearly want to wash their hands of the deal, ____ing collectors who got a wax paper fix by limiting their own financial loss in denying those who got said wax paper fix a proper replacement. There's nothing "smart business" about it. They're straight up ripping people off. You wanna pole squat for HT because you're a forgiving fanboy, go for it, but don't begrudge people who got the shaft unwillingly. That's entirely disrespectful.

I was just thinking about this today. I know the Tumbler and the Batpod had a lot of breakage problems which never really went unsolved. Did they give that problem the same attention they gave this problem with the DX02??

I bought the original Hot Toys and Medicom Dark Knight Batman figures when they came out. I'm still extremely happy with the Medicom version but was going to get the new Hot Toys DX02 version ( I mean look at it!) but after reading the survey I'm a little leary. I hope the issue is resolved before the release. I have several Mattel Justice league unlimited and Batman figures that have developed a white residue. I hate the fact that even when you clean it just keeps coming back. Has anyone else had this problem with these types of Mattel figures? I wish the soft plastic materials used were better quality.

Mine came in with two sets of spoilers that were the same, and within two weeks, HT replaced the duplicate set.

One good turn deserves another. :lol

It just never fails to amaze me how someone, who hasn't a clue what it's like to be on the other side, offers soapbox advice.

Yeah I hear ya, cause if HTs would have sent me back the same fig with a piece of friggin tissue paper stuffed in the shirt as a solution, I would have ____ted bricks!

Possible admission of homosexuality? That's a brave thing to come out with:clap

With regards to this Oily Abs gate, perpetual whining about it isn't going to change the fact that HT won't do anything about it so we'll just have to move on. That doesn't make it right however its a lesson learnt imo. Rabble rousers or, if you prefer the term ____ stirrers, like this guy are just in it to create trouble.

I would say the new policies are POS but then much like many policies it is to deter misuse and if a real issue is at hand keep pushing for aa resolution no amtter what and let's see how often they come back referring back to this policy. It is quite possible that HT will still continue to provide replacements if the argument is valid. So far has anyone been rejected yet? As long as we don't give up trying because of this policy and they continue to provide support/replacements I see this only as a doormatt.

I had just taken the other figure out and look what I found.

I'm going to have to contact them now.
