Great post!

The only problem I have is, I don't know exactly the best way to go about doing this. Would an online petition carry any weight? Would a form letter printed out and signed by people and sent by mail have a better effect? If some of those avenues are tried and fail, would going to DC directly be of any use? I've personally never done anything like this before, so if anyone has feedback or suggestions, that'd be great. I definitely think starting some dialogue on this topic would be of great benefit.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I know that these bodies just surfaced for us. I was just wondering has anyone who has gotten a faulty replacement try and contact Hot Toys for another replacement with the knowledge of the problem being fixed? We were so "fast" to say that Hot Toys wasn't going to fix the problem and now here we are eating our words, myself included. I say we try and contact them again for a replacement before we claim that they are going to leave all of us in the dust with faulty replacements.

But we still dont' know if they've actually fixed it. The only fact we have is the report that they've now implemented a new material for the abdominal section of the shirt. If 2 months from now, anyone getting a figure with this new material can say it's never shown a sign of the oil problem, I'll feel like they did indeed find a fix, but right now, I only consider it their latest attempt.

This is why I've been so antsy towards others. Time takes to prove that yet others choose to go it's all fixed! Yet they some don't even own it!

Nobody knows if it's fixed yet some keep jumping the gun as if it is solved. Only time will prove it. Not days, not weeks, months!

I guess this still can't be any clearer english can it?

That's true but I'm very optimistic about this one since it seems like a big fix/difference in the figure. I'm hoping that HT will exchange the body I have just bought from PapitoMX.

I agree that there are no guarantees with the new construction, but if the new batch leaks it will be a completely different problem/cause because it is a different material.

Rubber vs. plastic.

I'm optimistic too, this is such an awesome figure that to have it problem free would be fantastic, but after all the bull with HT trying to get answers, and the half assed first "fix" that didn't work and all, I'm not prepared to just embrace that because something is seemingly radically different from the original make of the figure that the problem is completely solved. The report is that it feels like a harder material than the old material, suppose it's just a denser mix of the same rubber, if that's so, then the problem could still happen. Like I said, after everything, I won't be prepared to feel they've solved it for a few months. I should be seeing my replacement in hand sometime this week, so I'll see how that goes.

Oh cool, I didn't know you had a replacement on the way! :rock

Really hope it's from the new batch!

Well, Geil and I are both getting them from Toys2 so it ought to be the same as the one he got, I'll be pissed actually if it's not.

Well at least there is no reports of cracks/deterioration on the oozing figures or parts coming away after all this time...

I know this will never happen but I wish Hot Toys would explain what was happening with the oil but the ******** they have been they'll act as if it all never happened.

I'm still more shocked at how they don't seem to care for their customers in their own country. The shambles that happened at the very beginning. Then this after it.

I know it's a small number but you just don't cheese off your own countrymen.

Vodoun, you are absolutely right that currently there is no definitive proof that this latest attempt (as MaulFan very appropriately called it) is the final, definitive fix that everyone is seeking. And I agree with you 100% that we need to give it the proper time to determine it's actual status, as it's the most sensible thing to do.

However, I don't think there's anything wrong with getting our ducks in a row, so to speak, to have some good ideas worked out as to how to approach HT if it does indeed solve all the problems, especially if they try to ignore you and everyone else who is a victim of the previous runs. But I stress again, it only needs to be discussion and planning for now. As SanShouXMA said:

[...]I say we try and contact them again for a replacement before we claim that they are going to leave all of us in the dust with faulty replacements.

And that's a very, very good idea. If HT steps up to the plate and decides to take care of their customers on their own, excellent! Less work for all of us. But thinking forward, planning for the alternate (and unfortunate) outcome, can't hurt.

Basically, what I'm hope is coming across, is that this whole fiasco/scenario is effecting me personally on an emotional and physical level. It turns my stomach and makes me feel a deep sadness for you Vodoun and everyone else like you who have had to endure this unfortunate problem. It's simply because I try to put myself into your shoes and I know how down and out I would feel if I were stuck with the faulty version. To me, having you and everyone else endure that hardship by going before us, as it were, I feel deeply obligated to help make sure all of you are able to be as happy about the figure as we (potentially) stand to be with the DCD version. All for one and one for all, I say!

Sue Hot Toys for emotional distress.

Maul. I thought Toys2 wasn't doing replacements for people. I have a figure from them. Will they replace mine?

I have no idea, Voorhees asked and was told to go through HT direct, HT's being a pain about this whole thing. If you ordered one from Toys2, ask them what your options are.

Hey guys just so you know it's day 2 and nothing. It's raining here in Jersey so the temp. is a little cold and i thought the drop in temperature would've caused it to react but nothing.I also placed it in the bathroom, while the shower was running extreme hot water,to see if the humidity would cause it to bleed but nothing, not a drop.Well as the other guy said i guess it's a wait and see game and you can't say problem solved just on a couple of replacements. We need to see how these replacements do months down the road then we can rejoice but it's a start in the right direction.I think anyway.

Yeah it's a new body. The minute i took it out of the box i noticed the difference. It's not as shiny as it was before with the original DX body.I might be wrong but it also seems to be a little wider too but it could be just my imagination.
