These kind of threads make me think of like a zombie outbreak...

starts with one and soon the numbers have tripled... yet the funny thing is that this little shiny spot is more traumatic and dramatic to a lot of you folks...

I like that there is awareness but geez... give it a little time before making paranoia thread.

M.

Like what? 30 days so the return policy expires? :cuckoo:

I am not going to get worked up and study up on figures I do not have nor will get. If it is such a burden on you and causing you such anxiety..dont purchase it..simple. I was trying to lighten the mood..its a toy..put it in perspective

If you're not going to do your research then you really don't have much place to suggest that people are over-reacting :dunno
Yes it's a toy but one that costs $250 or thereabouts.

If you spend that much getting a new TV and it started leaking chemicals which could ultimately short-circuit the whole thing would you be happy with it or want it fixed or refunded?

The leaking means this thing will decompose at an unnatural rate...

It's not paranoia, it's an early warning. Shiny spot today, blob of goo tomorrow.

Well based on the pics, it wouldn't warrant a return with SSC anyways... but if a bunch of these start breaking down in time they will open that window I'm sure...

You can't just return them now without and issue either... ya know?

So I'd say at this point it's a non issue filled with a lot people freaking out.

Sideshow has a 30-day return policy as do many retailers. Skip that and you're risking eating it. And most businesses won't eat the cost of a bunch of figures HT has zero intention of taking back. Especially at $250 a pop!

You really think inferring people who know what they're talking about are over acting is lightening the mood? :dunno

As far as putting it into perspective, let's, shall we? The damn thing costs a quarter of a grand. The leaking means this thing will decompose at an unnatural rate because HT was too ____ing lazy, or just didn't care (because of all the polesquatting fanboys who downplay and buy anyway), to let the suit cure accurately. How many people do you think toss $250 into the fireplace to watch it burn with the idiotic remark of, "it's only money," or, "just enjoy the way it burns" spewing like rhea out of their mouth? If you've got that kinda cash to burn Daddy Warbucks, go float your boat in the regular thread. If not, pay close attention to what's being said so you can actually have a realistic grasp of what's going on.

Hulk smash......haha..calm down there big boy...I never said anything about throwing money away..I said dont buy it. I am a proponent for not giving them money when the quality is down. Read what I write before you get all riled up. I said if it is hurting everyone so much mentally..then just dont buy the god damn thing...problem solved. You can get angry and complain about the company all day..but history has proven that they either dont care or do not subscribe here.

I hope everyone's is fine and it works out..because the collectors shouldnt keep getting screwed on this stuff..its ridiculous how many issues these are all having lately..not just this guy but all lines.

Wow this really does suck. I don't wanna say it but.. Told ya so

HT won't really fix rubber figures with oil problems until people stop buying rubber figures with oil problems, it's happened before and people still buy them, they can sell a figure with problems as much as they can sell one without problems, wheres the insentive to fix it if they make the same profit either way.

In fact spending money to really fix it means they'll make less from the figure than selling a defective one :lol

Haven't got much hope they'll fix it for the Returns figure now :(

Ok, I missed out on the whole DX02 disaster so I'm completely ignorant to leaking HT Batmen. So what is it? Everyone says it's "leaking" but that would imply it's oozing from somewhere like a hole etc. I've also heard it to be some sort of chemical reaction from the plastic and rubber? All the pictures I've seen looks to be a sheen under the belt not necessarily "leaking". So where which one is it? Is it coming from inside the suit or the belt/suit combination? Has anyone tried to put something between the belt and suit so they don't touch? Sorry for all the questions but I did't go through this last time. Man, I really had hopes for this. Its been out a while now and nothing but positive feedback and the suit looked great. This was gonna be the highlight of my collection, something I've wanted for years. I hope this can be remedied in some way.

Maybe thats why these figures shipped with that black "paper thingy" between the belt and suit. I was actually going to leave mine on but accidently ripped it.

^Well, wouldn't Hot Toys still process exchanges if the figures were bought from an official distributor (eg. SSC)?

This load of crap about official distributor is bunk. What other company that you do business with will only support their product if you buy it from one predesignated store? What effect does that have on their craftsmanship? Do they think Corner Store, or Alter Ego etc. is opening these and replacing them with melting/leaking versions? I really hope they aren't this cheap to withhold any support from people who don't buy from SSC.

They are. I think it has more to do with trying to make the customer jump through so many hoops that they just give up. It took harassing them via Facebook to get someone from Milk (?) to respond and work as the liaison between HT and the customer. And even through that route, not all replacements were granted. And even those that were, despite having multiples or getting a replacement that leaked, were only limited to a single suit exchange.

Has anyone with a DX 02 leaking abs Bats actually have something to report right now the entire ab area is gone..diesenegrated..disappeared??

I've had a leaky abs DX 02 and NOTHING has happened- all intact- just slightly oily- very slightly.
I'm just saying in 10 years will it have changed at all? Because in all this time nothing appears to have fallen apart.
That being said I have to laugh at the reviews on this Keaton Bats... hailed the plastic is different and leaking abs would not be a problem...
