Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

As for the PERS making this look "wonky" or whatever you want to call it, Im sure it will look fine in hand. The DX12 pics really made it look googley eyed and mouth pieces more caricature-like, but once seeing it in person, they looked fine to me. And Im assuming the same will happen once I see the T-800 in person as well.

I think if I had anything to nit pick about this figure is the way the neck meets the headsculpt. Due to the PERS makes it a real eye-sore. The same thing happened with DX05 Indy.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

the new BD T2 is clearly better, im not arguing that, but thats a 1/4 scale vs 1/6 scale, more room to work with, and that enterbay scupt photo is not a production shot, compare it to the previous T2 enterbay in hand as far as paint application and tiny details, still looks amazing but theres a drop off

Got mine today. Honestly, the figure looks great. Definetly looks better than the MMS version IMO. It has been a great month. Back-to-Back-to-Back DXs for me.

I think that would be the best 3 weeks of my collecting life if I had gotten those in a row. :lol

Bespin Luke and Sparrow are great! Sparrow I think is still HT best work thus far. Enjoy!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

The material is nice - real leather - but I don't like the lapels and the jacket's opening at the chest/mid-torso. Granted, it fits around more snuggly around the neck, but that was an extremely easy fix on the original.

I don't think the fit is improved any from the original release, although that might be more the body's fault than the tailoring, or just the limitation of this scale that prevents leather from looking real.

The original had the lapels right:

Ahh ok I see what you mean. I think it can be easily fixed, the lapels that is. of course it's one of those things that shouldn't have to be fixed but I get ya.

I do feel the new jacket lays better though

I think most of the disinterest comes from (not just in part of the PERS, but also) that this release was basically already done and is on a lot of collectors shelves. I have the MMS117 and have been very happy with him. And that is why Ive kept him, but I think a lot of others collectors feel they dont need two of the same "look" Terminators.
I think this is what it is too. Like folks have said, more of the same. I'd be in that boat too if I still had my MMS. But I had to sell him a while ago and have missed him since. It was literally the hardest figure to box up and send away. I will always like the MMS b/c it was my second HT figure and I loved the accessories and box. great stuff at that time and I felt crazy for spending $160 on him. Times have changed, i don't have the MMS anymore but i have the parts to make it like it was minus the endo arm (best feature of the MMS IMO)

this too :lol I will be honest while I typically like most releases and don't have issues, early pics of the DX12 did scare me abit and even OMGs great photos weren't completely blowing me away, but once I got that figure in hand and set up, man it looked so good to me. I feel this will be the same except I'm not even a little scared this time

wonderful comparison! i like them both and if I had space and $$ i'd get the EB but I love the HT DX as well. EB's looks a little sleepy

I almost forgot I have a badass DX12 sitting on my shelf right now. Too many DX10 pics to look at and discuss in the last day.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

If hot toys keep upping their game why are most people unhappy or generally disinterested in this DX10 release? Or DX12 Batman, or Indiana Jones for example? :dunno

When you say 'people' what does that mean? The people who voice their opinions on these boards? Iv'e got news for you, the 'people' who carry most of these conversations, are the minority of the people who buy the products. The people who dont like something are always the loudest. People disinterested in the DX batman? its on backorder now because so many people are 'disinterested'. It will sell more units than the iron monger and the boards seem to really like that one. These boards are the minority. Also, a certain percentage of the hate is fueled by people already owning older versions of the updated figures and wanting to not only convince themselves, but convince others that the new one is bad, or not as good so they dont feel upset that theirs isnt the best anymore, or so they dont need to spend the money on a new one. Also, if you go on a DX batman board the majority of the people in there are hardcore collectors and already have the older dark knight anyways which would only support my point. I mean it makes sense, its logical. People saying the DX batman didnt look better than the previous release, when CLEARLY, without question the DX was better, people saying the older bruce wayne head looked better, it was so ridiculous, I showed the figures side by side to 15 of my friends who dont collect these things, and 15 for 15 said the DX looked much much better.

Its like the show 'louie' on fx, if you went off of the internets opinion of that show you would assume it was one of the best shows of all time, when in reality its ratings are horrible, and it just appeals to a certain audience with big mouths on the internet.

No guys - they got it right - it's the photographers futzing IMO that throws it off. You can see the fold lines for the lapel are further back and meet lower on the zipper like the prop jacket. Looks like they just folded them higher if you will....

i see what you're saying and I agree. you can see the fold line for sure, but for whatever reason, it's not staying how it should b/c it's like that in OMGs pics too

Some of these newer pics are showing the sculpt in a better light in my opinion. I'm hopeful that like other releases lately, it will look better in hand.

I was somewhat following your statement until you brought the Louie comparison...c'mon man - Why do that? Louie is a pretty awesome show - And I also think the DX12 is pretty awesome, so there's that as well, but hey to each his own - I can understand some of the disappointment here. I never owned a HT DK bats before, so it's cool to me - I did own the T2 Arnie, I just think this one looks a bit better - although I've been spoiled with all the cool figures from the last few years. The T2 Arnie was one of the first HT figures I got, and back then - it was really impressive to me-

Love it if you could post some real in-hand pics of this guy.

I dunno I think the triangle that each of the lapels below the collar forms is too even, when on the prop/hero jacket onscreen, the triangle was longer as it went down.

Not sure it can be fixed by futzing, as it looks the same in all the photos I've seen. It could be as easy as refolding the lapels though. Might have to break the glue or seam that holds them down.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

It just looks like the shrunk the original but didn't scale it right.

It needs to be longer on the sides - the vertical zipper pocket needs to be a quarter inch longer

yes I agree, I like the improvement for the quality of the material used but I don't like the final no scale result and for the most, the not working zip and button (I have the same model of this jacket from another manufactor paid super cheap price and all the button and zip are working), I would like to add, the old pants & jackets set have more vintage look than this (too new, and too clean) need to be weathered for sure...and this is a little bit annoying...in my opinion..

Yeah, I don't care about all the nuances of the jacket. I think the figure is pretty solid. Funny how I had no interest at all when this was announced. :lol
