Everything that's bringing big bucks on EBay is more like it. In that case 2/3 of everything they've ever done is up for re-issue or re-release.

Shouldn't his jacket have bullet holes?

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

What I don't get is WHY?! They should be flattered that their products appreciate in value - nothing more.

This is pure greed at work, trying to cash in the money going into the secondary market. Whether you like this release or not, there's no escaping that simple fact.

It is greed. It will also hurt them in the long run too. A flooded market is a bad market to be in.

Further proof (of greed) Sideshows 1:4 & 1:1 product has inflated in most cases higher than that of HT's product. Is Sideshow re-releasing Green or Grey Hulk (PF) or the Arnold 1:1 BD bust that now pushes $2000? Nope.

Some newbs will be happy when they start collecting two years from now and can pick up HTs greatest figures for $150: Sparrow, Superman, Batman, Joker, Terminator, Classic Predator, Mark I, Cap, probably the Avengers team and Bane and Catwoman too.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

a good move would have been making a damaged base body with normal and damaged clothes and head sculpts leaving out the shotgun and colt and including the tear gas launcher and people would be happy instead of the outburst we have now. then they could make an exclusive version with the normal body included just like bruce lee and everyone would have been happier.

im still waiting for xmen 1st class and metal gear solid... WHERE ARE THEY????

:goodpost: :exactly:

Well remember, HT is trying to crush the secondary market at this point, so we may see remakes of virtually everything they have done so far.

At the expense of new characters getting figures, they can remake all the figures of Magneto or or Neytiri they want i just want them to actually make an original first.

It's reasonable to assume that they would notice that the figures they produced 5 years ago are still in high demand in the secondary market for obnoxious prices and that they'd try to cash in, no?

Here's Hot Toys new company symbol.

With the new company name 'Got Toys'.

Already own half their 'new' output.

I think they are just following the Lucas/Hasbro formula which worked so well for them in the 3 3/4" line -- the constant improvements and reissues to the same figures -- only thing HT is missing is the whole 'variant' concept... oops, maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

They've been there, done that, and are still doing it. (Milk version War Machine,Gunmetal ironman 3 and 4)

I see what you did there.

Save them bread to by re-using many of the molds.

I guess that's true, but I was imagining a more insidious variant... like a T2 T-800 with white tshirt instead of gray or an elusive Indy with gray laces instead of black ones.

A case in point: I just purchased the MMS 001 Kyle Reese figure, it's in transit now. This is a figure that I have always wanted, iconic figure (IMO) from an iconic movie (IMO), not a great HS by today's standards, and probably soon to be re-released, but I still pulled the trigger on this figure. This will be #54 in my collection of 1:6 scale that is from Hot Toys. Call me a HT's fan-boy if you wish, but they consistently release the BEST sculpts, the BEST body types, the MOST licenses, and with the GREATEST regularity (175 MMS since 2005), not bad for a little company. Yes they re-hash figures, who doesn't :dunno

Let you wallet do the talking, mine does:wave and so do alot of others.

If you are worried that your little dollies will loose their value whenever something else is released or re-released/improved, buy gold or oil.
