Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics
The problem that some of us have is that these rereleases have in some cases devalued the original to a point below retail, for example Predator 1, so we can't even get our money back by selling the old one to pick up the new one that we want in our collection to represent the character. Not to mention the hassle of selling it in the first place.
That's pretty much all I want, the best version. I know some guys want 3 different versions of Mark I Iron Man, but that's just not something I really want to have in my collection. The most perfect version is all I really want, but if I've got the older model that's inferior, it'll be a lot harder for me to sell that off to fund the new one that I'd like to have since everybody else wants that new one too.
Anyone who wants to get rich by reselling Hot Toys at inflated prices, more power to them, I say, but I don't think they're going to have that much success to be honest.
However, I really like my original version of the T-800 better than this one, and I don't think it's worth trying to sell that figure for pers and a couple of guns.
A case in point: I just purchased the MMS 001 Kyle Reese figure, it's in transit now. This is a figure that I have always wanted, iconic figure (IMO) from an iconic movie (IMO), not a great HS by today's standards, and probably soon to be re-released, but I still pulled the trigger on this figure. This will be #54 in my collection of 1:6 scale that is from Hot Toys. Call me a HT's fan-boy if you wish, but they consistently release the BEST sculpts, the BEST body types, the MOST licenses, and with the GREATEST regularity (175 MMS since 2005), not bad for a little company. Yes they re-hash figures, who doesn't
Let you wallet do the talking, mine does and so do alot of others.
If you are worried that your little dollies will loose their value whenever something else is released or re-released/improved, buy gold or oil.
