Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I don't know why ppl are so down on this, ok we all want a BD or endo, but as i missed out on the first T2 1/6, i pre-ordered this. Plus i can't afford the $400 -$500 bucks the original goes for now. Also the fact that it has pers and comes with all the weapons is a bonus for me.
With ppl saying the likeness is off and that it's a fail, i think the old green eyed monster maybe coming out. Anyway i'm happy, and i think it looks just like the first HT T2.

Because above all other things, people are never happy. They love to _____.

I just figured something out. The sculpt looks ridiculously accurate, but it's the neck that's throwing it off. In the pics where the neck can't be seen behind the jawline underneath the ear, the sculpt looks better than those with the neck showing.

Best post in this thread.

I see this figure catering to two different types of people. The first being the collectors that didn't get the original MMS and want a T2 T-800 in their collection. The second being those that have the original, but want multiple versions of the T-800 displayed. I have the Galleria look, I'd like the Cyberdyne look, and this figure fits the bill. I'd have to either buy another MMS, gloved hands, and the weapons, and gear, or I can buy this with a marginally better head sculpt.

As for the argument that HT should be releasing figures from other properties (announced or otherwise) I can't really argue that. But HT is a business, and if I saw that there was still a market for a Mk I, or a T-800, and fans were paying $500+ after market for them, I'd capitalize on that too.

I don't care about the EB vs. HT debate either. I have no financial stake in either company and as a collector I personally want the best 1/6 figures possible, regardless of who makes them. If one wants to copy the other, or try to one up them, then that means more (and usually better) product for me to chose from. If its a license or a scale I don't care about, I don't purchase it, but I don't feel like a company is 'screwing me over' because they didn't cater to what I specifically want.

This is a no go for me, I personally think they should have skipped this one and made a DX BD with swap out final BD head and clothes. (Doesnt need to be a DX but those are the ones that most often has swap outs)

Meh, glad I got the first one.

Was intent on selling him for quite a while, actually, but I think I'll keep him, along with P1, at least for a little while.

Anyway i'm happy, and i think it looks just like the first HT T2.

And thats the problem. People feel they already have this. They wanted the more obvious choice - the BD.

Having said that, I do believe it will come. HT have returned to Terminator. They surely have a BD in mind.

I envy you in a way having not seen it in such a long time that you'd forgotten that detail. Oh to see the film again with the kind of freshness that awaits you.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

It would appear the sunglasses are more 'tinted' as opposed to painted black this time.

I hear that. I've long ago burnt myself out on T2. I've let months go by without viewing it, but it still isn't long enough. At this point, I'll have to let several years pass before I can watch the whole movie again without tuning out.
