Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Any reason to open up the display and have a re-pose is ok by me.

The glasses are the ones that come stock with the original T2. But hey, who needs glasses and I still dont think the pers is a must. The sculpt on the first is still a work of art.

The DVD awaits, Oh what a great Easter.

Happy holidays to all.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I just hope that this is what it smells like--an ability to cash in on this look one more time before moving on to something a heck of a lot more novel and interesting--BD version.

Many of us were expecting the BD version (that seemed inevitable when the first version of this was released) to come with the Gatling gun and bag. Now, HT has actually released an entire figure essentially just to showcase those accessories. Well, that and to milk this "regular" look (which is their primary motivation, I'm sure).

Now, when the BD version comes out, it can be a "purer" release than one that tried to haphazardly include non-damaged parts and accessories that weren't a part of the final confrontation in the film.

Less money HT would have to spend on accessories for that release, and an additional release to take some collectors' money away.

OSB in the UK now has this up for pre-order for £150 + postage, this may have DX in the name but it's certainly not a DX in price which is a good thing

That's a hell of a price from OSB! Ahh man i'm tempted :lol Damn you Waiman.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Best post in this thread.

I see this figure catering to two different types of people. The first being the collectors that didn't get the original MMS and want a T2 T-800 in their collection. The second being those that have the original, but want multiple versions of the T-800 displayed. I have the Galleria look, I'd like the Cyberdyne look, and this figure fits the bill. I'd have to either buy another MMS, gloved hands, and the weapons, and gear, or I can buy this with a marginally better head sculpt.

As for the argument that HT should be releasing figures from other properties (announced or otherwise) I can't really argue that. But HT is a business, and if I saw that there was still a market for a Mk I, or a T-800, and fans were paying $500+ after market for them, I'd capitalize on that too.

I don't care about the EB vs. HT debate either. I have no financial stake in either company and as a collector I personally want the best 1/6 figures possible, regardless of who makes them. If one wants to copy the other, or try to one up them, then that means more (and usually better) product for me to chose from. If its a license or a scale I don't care about, I don't purchase it, but I don't feel like a company is 'screwing me over' because they didn't cater to what I specifically want.

Agreed :duff

If HT announced that a BD was coming, so many fans would feel better towards DX10, but right now, it's possible HT's return and last T2 figure is a rehash and that's disappointing. It's like the early DX days when folks kept hoping the next would be Reeves or something and it was another MJ or something.

In sure they will milk the line - a BD version is only a matter of time I think

I'm surprised they haven't announced it actually with their seeming need to counter everything Enterbay does.

There's no chance that the DX10 will be Hot Toys final 1/6 scale Terminator figure, no chance at all :nono

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I for one am very glad to see this line back, and I would expect a battle damage version for sure down the line. I personally am over the moon with the fact that a 1:6 t-800 endo is just around the corner. That is my most wanted figure of them all and IMO is the most important to the terminator line. The endo is the heart of the whole story to me.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I felt sure of that 2 years ago, the T2 line had huge success. HT is a hard company to predict.

I think we all did; and of course all expected a BD T1 by now as well.

I'm just so happy to see new Terminator merchandise from HT in 2012. It was always a gap when Marvel and DC were being announced over and over and over...now we're back to the real classics that will far outlast any Avengers.

I also agree, the Terminator IS the endo!

Has it been confirmed that HT are re releasing the 1/6 endo?

All but confirmed, there is a thread already, There is a pic a crudely mocked up 1:6 t-800 endo next to the 1:4 scale endo hot toys just revealed.
