I agree that people should not buy these as an investment.

While I don't generally buy statues as investments, the resale value of these often pricey things do play a role in my decision to buy. I don't have many "will never be sold" pieces. I'm not going to spend $800 on something that I can't get a reasonable return on. For many, this hobby relies heavily on the resale of pieces. Believe it or not, over the years, I have sold almost as many pieces as I presently own. The resale, and sometimes high return, has played a vital role in my buying things and staying on board.

Pieces sold to date: Approximately 180
Pieces I presently own: Approximately 225

I can't imagine still owning everything I have ever purchased. Incidentally, for a while now, my sales have generally served to subsidize many of my hobby purchases which followed. All this to say, it can be argued that these statues, busts, and props have actually turned out to be better investments than my bank bonds and investments with my planner... lol.

I accepted the fact any non-exclusive will be ES TBD even with NRD so buyers who missed the release can buy them. But it's really frustrating to have the exclusive versions also have TBD ES with NRD, those are suppose to reward the fans who bought them on day 1 blind to give a little extra.

SS has a monopoly on the market currently so they really dont give a **** what the fans want, just what method will yield the max profit. This and the gradual decline in their QC/paint have made me buy a lot less SS, and moving towards attakus and some of the smaller studios which has much better quality control. It's quite sad really...

lol... It's not like I sold/bought all those pieces over the past year.
I've been buying statues since 1994. I still have many of them too.
However, I sure have unloaded a whole lot of Bowen product.

It would be nice if SSC would at least reveal the EX ES of any merch we buy direct from them at the time of pre-order. I'm sure they have a number in mind when they set up the pre-orders.

I have no issue with SSC not revealing the Reg ES until later. This only makes sense since the Regs are ordered by collectors and merchants. Merchant orders alone would take a good amount of time to process.

If SSC requires an NRD for an EX item that we purchase directly from them, it would be great to know the ES before we buy. It has been done before with great success. The Rogue PF sold out in about 6 hours. Obviously it works. I believe that the Skaar PF also had a predetermined EX ES at the time of the pre-order. That seems to have worked out pretty well also.

I hope to see more of this practice in the future. It's a nice tip of the hat to those of us who buy the EX versions direct from SSC and bypass the discounts we can receive from merchants on the Regs. Either way, I will always buy a statue of a character I love regardless of ES. Where I buy from will be the only question.

I suspect SS simply do not know how many of these they expect to sell and are basing their ES on orders made over a number of weeks. There is serious uncertainty in the world economy with fears of another recession and banking crisis.

But then again, what does an ES matter if you are going to just change it again anyway like with the recent 1:2 Endo? I have one of these numbered out of 500. And now it has been changed to "Limited Edition".

The reason for charging the NRD is the same whether the edition size is determined at the time of pre-order or not. They want people committing to the orders they place. It's for the customer to decide whether or not it's worth it to them. If you need to know the ES before you order, then wait.

Good points. ES reveals with NRD charged is just more information at the time of payment for the customer to help them decide if they want to put money down on something.

As a result of the actions above, I can no longer say this and be truthful.

You were a company which found a balance between artistic expression, high end collectables, and making an exceptional business of it.

Their is no longer any balance between the three.

Your actions have spoken. You are a becoming a business which has lost touch with what it is like to be a collector of your products. You have tipped the balance towards the money aspect of the business and have begun caring less and less about your product and your collectors, especially those who have invested, yes invested, MONEY AND TIME in your products and supporting SS.

Please reverse this unsightly, unpleasing, and greedy trend of the recent few months.

Look at your past history of what made you what you are today.

While I can't speak for the Endo, I do get a sense of what you're saying...

I may be wrong here but does anyone else wonder if SS has been under different management this past year? There's a way SS has been managing things lately that somehow feels different. I don't just mean about the switcharoo preview pics with the Rogue PF, or the no-show Predator LSF, or the NRD, or the TBD edition sizes, or the greater challenges which appear to have suddenly surfaced when asking for replacements, or the noticeable rise in costs, or even how SS has suddenly replaced its toll free customer service number with a non-toll-free 805 area code number on their website. It's the suddenness of these types of things, all seeming to occur in close proximity to one another. It feels like someone is pulling the strings on this. Then again, this could all be in my mind.
