Sounds like the pieces included in the bundle will be a part of the larger edition size, and the sales of the bundles will influence the final number, which won't be announced until the individual pieces are up for order, or soon after.

That's kind of what I figured as well. Of course, the PPO is supposed to have the ES listed when it goes live so at least we'll know the actual ES at that point. (of course we know there was that one exception :D ) Guess it won't be too hard speculate after that point.

You cannot combine gift cards in one order. One per purchase, and only one per promotion per person (promotions = events: Comic-Con, Endor Strike bundle, etc.)
Hey Dusty, is SSC going to do something about the quality issues? You know paint applications, missing or broken accessories, small jackets and loose joints? Just so you know I love the figures, I just feel for the price some things need to be better.

I'm ticked that only the Seargent comes with that nice looking wrist com, when all 3 should. He even has a detonator! :emperor

You should try the "Ask Sideshow" section. :wave

Things like that affect all products from every company.

Yeah, I know and SSC should do something about their issues. I wasn't talking about other companies, what made you think that?

With that being said you think we the consumer should just except sub par products from companies?

We should always contact Sideshow when there is a problem with our order. Broken or missing pieces can be replaced. Ill fitting clothes and sloppy paint applications are not so easy to fix if that's just the way the figure got produced, but when we officially report issues like that, they know to address the issue in the future. And we can always return a figure for a refund, although when it's an item we really want, we would rather have it done right than get our money back and go without it in our collection.

Why is it that there are just a few members here that think the way you and I do Tomand Shell? It's like SSC can do no wrong. Weird. When I buy something I want it to work or not be broken. I'm not just going to say Oh Well SSC made it, it must be OK.

From my experience, the folks at Sideshow really value our input, and you can see them act on it more than most other companies do. I could make a long list of things that we have complained about or commented on that they have responded to and made the appropriate changes.

We always used to complain about getting the newsletter at different times, and they responded by making it available to us all at once through the website, giving us all a fair chance at ordering items as soon as they go up. They started the Priority Preorder system based on our feedback, and they made changes to the system and later started the inclusive method as a result of our comments as well. We complain about Luke's long arms and they take notes for the next short figure. We point out that Plo Koon's lightsaber ought to be blue and they change it. While no company is perfect and can do no wrong, Sideshow works really hard to maintain contact with their customers and make changes when appropriate. They are really striving to be the best they can be. Compare them to Gentle Giant, who make a habit out of frustrating and ignoring their customers, and you will see the difference.

Exactly! That's one of the many things that set SS apart from the rest of the pack. They treat us so great that it truly makes ya feel special.

Tom,

You're right on with your points. Sideshow does seem to listen to the fans. That's a feather in their cap, and one that Gentle Giant can't even come close to having. That's one of the reasons I've been so vocal with my frustrations with this recent offering.

Sideshow's efforts on the 12" line have ranged from mostly great (Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Kit Fisto, Jabba, Leia Boushh) to okay (Anakin) to not-so-good (Bespin Han with his little boy vest, Luke with his "Who me?" expression) to the latest debacle (GI Joe Soldiers) which just smacks of greed (no way are these things worth $60) and vanity gone awry (I don't want a figure of Sideshow Brant in camo gear, even though he may be a nice guy).

Snags

I am a little baffled by the response to the "Brant" figure. For all we know, the other soldier was inspired by the Sideshow janitor. I don't see why the Commando Sergeant would be a better figure if it looked like some other non-film model. Most people won't recognize him, and it will be as anonymous as the basic infantry soldier figure.

After 24 hours, there are about ten bundles left, by the way!

Yeah, I'm not getting the whole Brant thing either. Folks are making a BFD out of it over at RS. Like someone just kicked their puppy or something. Nobody will know nor care. I sure as hell don't For all I know the other guy was some generic face that was never on screen. So he would have as much screen time in SW as Brant's. I also think these are worth $60 bucks.

I bet the folks at Sideshow are a little baffled too. I'm sure they thought their fans would get a kick out them putting one of their own faces on a no name soldier, and a lot of their older fans probably did, but I think they misjudged how anal Star Wars fans can be about that sort of thing. I don't mean that as a slight or insult against Star Wars fans, but they are a fiercely fanatical bunch.

I just figured that for generic background figures where you can't get good reference materials, they just sculpt based on somebody who is around the office.

The funny thing is that people here know the SS crew well enough to recognize Brant in the first place.

Just shows our adoration for SS.
