Sorry about the crappy picture guys , but here is a preview of the 3rd. head:

Btw... Excuse me for being maybe a little bit critical here, but it is just me or have they forgot to paint the nipple on the body ? `

....and there is something with the eyes... Hmmmm... Might be the pupils that are a little bit too big, and they do not seem to a little bit off...

Other than that it looks top notch :monkey1

Don't they sell him in Ann Summers!?

CHEERS!

mm.another ebay auction on a BD head..and another loss :(:monkey2
my bid $65..winning bid $65!!! lost by 9/100th of a second:gah::gah:

Been there, lost one, won one. The annoying thing was that both of them ended at silly o'clock in the morning, a major reason why I stick to Buy It Now.

CHEERS!

Thanks for the advice GungFu:1-1:, if I really do feel the need for an exchange, it's easier for me to refer back to my local official EB distributor.

Test test,

Cool pics, you never seem to see that light sold loose, I expect it's because sellers like to light their shop windows with them!

CHEERS!

It was actually by 9 secconds.

I swear, it wasn't me! :panic:

Sorry buddy, I couldn't pass on that grat deal. Call me a head-hog, but now I have 7 BD heads. :peace

:gah: i can see me having to get me nunchuku's out ahgnus:devil
but ive been offered one shipped for $72 and a body for $73..
right where's them chucks:wink1:

I might be blaspheming a bit here, but, I'm not actually that keen on the BD head. It's like they had to compromise somewhere to fit in that silly EVision, which they then dropped. I don't see Bruce much in that sculpt.

CHEERS!

i thought that of the smiley till i got one..but yeh i hear what your saying..perhaps it looks better in hand.and im getting rid of my custom heads and want an original to replace so i thought BD to go with the smiley

Now they've dumped Evision, they might do some better heads later on to which you could fit the GOD hair and do some custom BD.

The HT DX didn't blow me away either, but, when I have one in hand maybe I'll think differently.

i think a different hairpiece may make a difference (wonder if a ETD would fit)as hair dont look quite right ..didnt like and wont get a HT DX very poor bruce likeness i my opinion.

You're not blaspheming, you're stating the obvious. I saw both in hand the other week and the smiling sculpt looked even more awesome than it does in pics - and it looks pretty awesome in pics. The BD one looks exactly like it does in pics - kinda crap. To be kinder to it, there are a couple of choice angles where it looks better, but yeh, the EVision seems to have killed it. One of Arnie Kim's great talents was his ability to get a great Bruce likeness within the constraints of having movable eyes. It's not easy, and this BD sculpt shows how hard it is.

Maybe there's some irony in that the first Bruce that Kim sculpts for Hot Toys, with no movable eyes in the sculpt, looks a bit dead.

Possibly, though it'd need modding, just ask Ahgnus!

I'm studying Jeff Parker's pics of the DX in his Michael Crawford review and it is actually growing on me. Bruce has one of those Daniel Craig kind of faces in that he never looks the same in any one photo. From the right angles certain sculpts look good, but not so good from others. It's not till you see sculpts in hand that you can truly appreciate them.

True, very true.

The Evision system looked a little large and clunky. The older system was so much better as they didn't have to compromise on anything. I'm not saying PERS isn't also clunky per se but, apart from Indy, the heads don't seem to have suffered to accommodate it.

:exactly: That's the challenge sculptors have when taking on Bruce - not only was he expressive, he also had a range of expressions that most non-Bruce fans don't appreciate. To them he's just a martial artist who had a go at film, as opposed to a performer and actor who was a martial arts genius.

I see what people are saying when they claim they can't see much Bruce in the DX sculpts - the sculpts are referencing very specific frames in very specific scenes in ETD. But they are undoubtedly accurate portraits.

Another one of Kim's talents is his ability to sculpt a Bruce likeness that shines from multiple angles. Hopefully the next Bruce from HT will be a more versatile sculpt.

..and after what I was saying about Kim being so good with moving eye sculpts, Indy was sculpted by Kim! I still have faith that Kim - and likely Yulli - will rescue that one. I also liked the old moving eyes system, and I suspect after the EVision experience EB may revert back to it.

regarding the HT DX sculpts my problem with them is when you look at EB/ARNIES heads you know its bruce where as the DX you have to look hard and from certain angles.and imagine the film scenes they are taken from if you follow me.perhaps we've been spoilt by EB.hence MY dissapointment in the DX.as a set its great but let down by the heads.
just my opinion guys

I don't want this to be regarded as a noob or newbie question, but, I really don't see the large attraction to all the Bruce Lee figures. Can anyone who owns an EB or HT version please tell me whats so good about a figure like this (articulation, sculpt, accessories, why so popular?)

HOW DO YOU NOT? .....then w..h..y.. are you here?

What is so good about a figure like this...is OWNING ONE!

More true words!

Bruce is only fully known to a hardcore group of fans of a particular genre. Harrison Ford, due to the success of Star Wars and Indy, is a much more known face. That was the challenge facing Arnie when he took him on. If something was a hair off, it would stand out a mile, and boy did it.

To appreciate the DX sculpts fully you need to have seen ETD more than once. Now I have it on DVD I can study it ad nauseam and probably will.

It will be interesting now to see who comes out on top with Bruce sculpts, whether it's Arnie, Yulli or YJ Park. It's not over yet, we hope!

The main appeal is that it's not just a great sculpt on a commonly available body with common accessories. It's the whole shooting match, body, outfit, head, the lot and each has it's unique quirks. You can never accuse Bruce Lee of being generic!

I hear you and have agreed with you. With the likenesses on a lot of HT sculpts you can't see it at first, but, when it hits you it's a great moment because you feel like you've seen something nobody else has.

totally agree ahgnus i own nearly all the enterbay set (kato 1st god excluded) nearly owned a BD head..but shant go into that LOL..
people should remember without (bruce)martial arts inc mma/ufc-action movies as we know them today WOULD NOT exist.the man was a pioneer in the 60's-70's and bought more than just kung fu!! to the world
so we remember/admire him by getting these quality figures.
ok chris stop _____ing now:mad:
