My understanding is that EB released a statement saying that the MMS outfit was available on a first-come-first-served basis but the reality was all sets sold were sold with this outfit.

It is one of my favourite costumes from ETD, I hope we see either EB or HT bring this out. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the next HT release is another ETD, with brown kung fu costume and the MMS costume.

...if the licensing rumours are true :)

...then EB will counter with a Big Boss release, or a WoTD re-release. Awesome.

Yes, I think LeJuan's understanding is pretty close to what I also remembered. I took a quick look at a special tread I made on my Bruce Lee forum which I did a few post on the two Enter the Dragon figure both before and after they where released and there was something about those who pre-ordered the version A would get the extra "MMA" outfit with the gloves.... Not sure if they who ordered it after the release also got them or not, but I remember that these two babies went really fast. I think there was a special "price" for those who pre-ordered the Version B - but that was just a Enterbay bag (1/1 size)...

Btw, the head sculpt of Version A was my favourite:

This sculpt still holds up, years after its release. Truth be told EB could repaint their old BL heads and re-package them for release and they'd sell like hotcakes. HT basically does this all the time, why shouldn't EB profit from the same approach?

I like the sound of that :D

Amazing photos!!!:clap:clap

Please take more!!

Thanks ahgnus~ After admiring yours as well as many others' pics here for so long, I'm glad to finally be able to join in the fun:)

Cool pics, you never seem to see that light sold loose, I expect it's because sellers like to light their shop windows with them!

CHEERS!

Thanks Rogerbee, reckon the light is pretty popular with collectors too, I remembered some mentioned they got their loose ones at yahoo auctions HK.

Ones that turn up on ebay tend to be around the $40 mark. They're pretty cool little things just on their own, I'm surprised no manufacturer has produced these already.

OOPS..looks like i started something here :rotfl..agree about sculpt A too

While googling about this topic I found out a few things I didn't already know. Perhaps I only read it & did not watch it on a documentary like I previously stated :dunno :lol Anyway here is something I found at www.kungfucinema.com

A lot of people ask where they can get Bruce Lee films with his original voice. The short answer is that out of the four major movies he completed (He died during production of "Game Of Death"), the only one that featured his voice was ENTER THE DRAGON (USA version only), where he did a few bits of English dialog. He also did Bob Baker's voice in "Fist Of Fury" (on some dubbed versions). Bruce also did the war cries (screams) on most Mandarin dubs of "Fist Of Fury" and "Way Of The Dragon".
Why wasn't Bruce's voice on his movies with the few exceptions above? Like practically all Chinese movies during this time, actor's voice was not recorded during filming. This was done for several reasons:
1. Cost. It is much cheaper to film action with out sound, then to go back and fill in the dialogue later. Chinese films during this time were all done on a miniscule budget.
2. Most actors in Hong Kong, including Bruce, did not speak Mandarin. The primary market for these films was the Mandarin language market.
3. Creating a dub is an art much like acting is an art. Bruce, like most other actors didn't have any experience sitting down in a sound studio and making a dub. That's why he didn't do his own dubs.

Might be interesting to some. It was for me :D

To add to what Larry has mentioned:

You can also hear his original voice work for GOD, if you have the Enter The Dragon DVD, with the documentary that has the full 40 min. of GOD footage. The english parts are def. him, while the chinese was dubbed from someone else.

Also, he has a small dub in WOD, for the Mob boss. The scene where Tong Lung has a gun on his back, and is brought to the alleyway. The mob boss says something like "Take him out back, but becareful with the gun in public". If you listen closely, its Bruce's dub.

Also, in some documentaries and interviews, Bruce says he purposefully didn't do his own chinese dubs. Because of the prolonged term he left Hong Kong, and stayed in America, it left his chinese skills also lacking. Although he could still speak chinese, it wasen't as fluent as locals. It had a minor accent that he didn't find acceptable, so it was easier for someone else to dub it for him.

There was some recorded audio of him, in one of the documentaries that had him speak in chinese describing how he wanted a specific scene to be filmed and look. While he was talking, there were always bits of english in it, and pauses, from not being able to find the exact word he wanted in chinese.

Because of the initial agreement between BLE and their ex sculptor, Arnie Kim?::dunno

EB can't re-do the ETD's for 2 reasons.

First, they lost the ETD licence to HT. Even their 1/4 scale statue didn't have ETD written on it. It just says Bruce Lee - HD1002. They just painted him in ETD style, which is arguable whether they can do or not.

Second, Arnie Kim owns the sculpts, and when his contract expired with Enterbay, I think he also took the rights to use those sculpts as well.

Which I think is the main reason why the 2nd Bruce Statue seemed so rushed. If you see the paint work on HD1003, its actually quite terrible. The skin on the face and body don't have the texture and multiple layers of paint. The sculpt is excellent, and the paint brought it down a notch. Its not even half of the care put into the bust and HD1002.

I think EB had to rush out production on that one, in order to meet the deadline while Arnie's contract was still with EB. Anyways, ETD Ver.A is the only Enterbay Bruce i don't have and want (the other being GOD ver.1). Although Nokia is basically the same scuplt, its not the same... Its not the SAME !!!! I want that boxing gear !!!!

As nice and unique the boxing outfit was, I dont think it'll look good if you compare it with today's standards.

If I'm a HT CEO, I'd totally be planning on doing DX Bruce ETD ver 2.0 with the seamless body + 3 outfit (brown + blue+ boxing) and an arnie sculpted bruce head.

I owned both Ver A and B. Both had rosy cheeks.

Odd. Most version A's I've seen don't share the rosy cheek syndrom of version B. Instead they are pretty identical to the Nokia head.

Agreed, the HD 1003 pales in comparison. And looking forward to sporting the boxing gear for my Bruce collection too! :yess:

I think the boxing gear will hold up fine. What 'standards' are you referring to? ETD v A holds it own fine in a line up of current Bruce Lee's.

If I'm an HT CEO I'm praying my Bruce Lee release can even compete with EB's latest release b/c they have their work cut out for them considering their latest BL offerings (MMIS) are auctioning at $50 as we speak and selling for $50 under the retail already.

Is this the one with his voice?

The chinese is definetly NOT him.

The english, i'm pretty sure its him, if not... he is one of the best Bruce imitators i've ever heard.

Bruce has a distinct english accent. It has the strong Honger accent, with a tint, a tint of british accent, with American grammer and style. In my opinion, i also thought he had a semi high pitch, with some nasal sounds (like holding your nose when you talk). As you know, Hong Kong was ruled by the British, and the english teachings at school was with British Accent.

Here is the WOD scene i was mentioning. Exactly at 8:20.
