HOWEVER the deal is the paint on the face can easily be removed. I didnt put a sealer on them as I repaint the face quite a lot. A little water and gentle rubbing will get rid of them.

:eek::cuckoo::dunno

That is categorically not true Axe. These heads are porous. Even watercolor paint will not come off.
Acrylic actually stains the plastic underneath. There is no way in hell you could remove the paint.

What you saying? how else do you think I repainted, removed and repainted again... also let me remind you the acrylics Im using are Indian normal student acrylics by a local company. Not as good as those testors or tamiya... each large paint tube of costs about US$2.

Maybe your paints dont come off... but mine do... all you have to do is rub gently with a little damp tissue. carefully. Normal handling with sweatly palms wont have any effect though...

EDIT: Since you edited your post as to why it cant come off... Maybe I can show you how It can come off mine in a video. But If Im proven right, your Beijing Exclusive set is mine :wink1: But in all honestly its all packed up and ready to ship. As for the explanation you gave, its true ina way that the paint really takes to the head quite well, BUT the sealer/Film or wierd smooth feeling that the head has doesnt really let it get into the pores... the HT Bruce Lee is a different matter. The HT head if repainted will stain inside the pores and will be extremely difficult to remove

Nope! not convinced! Wipe that heavy red bruise of the cheek if you will?

I have used normal acrylic as well, also even plain old watercolor. EB paint their heads with a special skin coat. This allows their paint to absorb into the plastic molding.

I would love to see you get it off? I think you may be surprised when you do?

:monkey3

Since we are OT'ing, I need some help from you custom masters about my GOD BD head repaint project.

Does anyone here have any experience with recasting head sculpts in resin? got any tips or pointers? I am trying to recast the GOD head that I stripped the paints off of, so I can experiment freely with different paint apps. I've done enough reseach and bought required supplies, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to get some advice from more experienced folks.

The molding process seems to be the tricky part since I am trying to recast the head WITH movable eye system. It is definintely not as straight foward as simple 2 part mold for a normal SOLID head sculpt.

Rogerbee?

Anyone?

Oh! A challenge! I dunno if I should be doing it without permission of my buyer. Opening all the seals of my package and cutting away ALL that bubble wrap I taped has to made worth it
I can get that red bruise off the cheek easily, not like I havent done it before... But you people have to make it worth my while going through all that unpacking...

First Ill get permission from my trade fellow... till them come up on what you guys are willing to give me :angrycanu :tap
How about one of those multiple heads you guys own as a reminder of the GoD set I'm saying bye bye too? :monkey2
Im looking for the EtD verB, if you guys can help me out It would be great...

Im serious

A how-to video would be awesome for the newbies like myself! :rock

While Id love to do that, Itll only be possible when I get that head out of all that packing... to first debunk Rory's idea about the head, and THEN repainting the bruise all over again

BTW it hit me, YES the paint can come off... the proof is in the threads, I remember mentioning that the nose job paint came off when I was strength testing it by rubbing it and it came of as one rubbery flake (which gave me the idea of repainting on the body where the synthetic skin had flaked off) That was the first time I repainted the noserub,... but the body skin if painted on doesnt leave paint... its difficult to get paint on the body, but once it does settle it stays... unlike the head

EDIT: Found that post... https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3596732&postcount=3870

Thats lucky for you cause there is no way in hell you are going to get dried acrylic off with water. It's water proof once it dries.

:monkey3

Dont tempt me Rory! raise the stakes, and Ill for sure show you its removable... bet something worthwhile and by God Ill remove that acrylic

Guys, if you want to strip acrylic paint, and indeed factory paint, off a sculpt use non acetone based nail polish remover. If there's any stubborn paint, cover the head in OXY spot cream, leave it overnight, scrub off the cream with soapy water and a toothbrush and try stripping again. It's never failed for me.

Once mastered you'll soon reveal Arnie's true brilliance!

CHEERS!

Yup, that would do it! If you actually want to remove ALL the paint!
Axe reckons you can wash acrylic off with water.

Anyways.. moving on..:lol

You can't Axe!

PM Tinister about this, hes done this work before with the first edition GoD ALSO as far as I remember you can remove the eyeballs from the moving eyes of the older systems with a tweezer, some members who had marks on their FoF figure's eyeballs got replacements an were instructed on the phone by EB CS how to remove and replace the eyeballs. So basically cast the eyeballs and the sculpt separately thats it

GRRRR! AGAIN! Well ENOUGH!
What older EB BL's do you have eh? Bet that RIGHT NOW... and Ill prove it to you... on video...

It IS Poor Paint like I said, do I seem like a guy who'll use anything other than the Poor Man's Paint :lol each Paint Tube is the student edition and costs less than $2 works great on canvas... not much on plastic... though I did repaint my NECA Predators with it and they have held up, but can flake off If I try to prick it with my nails...

anyway anyone wanting proof further will get his head resculpted

Easy now,

Use Vallejo, they have a great range and are quite cheap. They can match any colour and would be great for BD on Brucies.
