I never understood why the iPhone was given special treatment as far as contact. Its always been my understanding they make the least $ on the iPhone hardware and at this point with almost everyone owning a smart phone they aren't getting extra money in monthly fees.

They get special treatment because they demand it.

They have more than enough clout to get their way, mainly because consumers will gobble up the crazy prices they demand.

I don't understand the big deal about the cable thing. If you've got more than one Apple device you've already got the cable that came with it. Why would this one have to be the same? Everything I own is charged with the cable it comes with. Is there some sort of underground movement to only have one cable charge everything?

Apple has had the same cable for ever. So in my case my new Sonata has a proprietary cable that hooks up to the stereo. Since they have decided to switch it will no longer work. Make sense?

Then there comes a pure convenience factor. I have accumulated enough cables to have one at work and a couple places at home. So pretty much no matter where I'm at I already have a charger waiting. These things are like $29 or $39.

The unveiling of the iPhone 5 has lead me to believe the following:
- Siri will still blow goats and Siii is much better
- New accessories required due to change in port may lead buyers away
- Apple still doesn't manufacture the Iphone (packages only).
- Now slightly smaller than the Galaxy (which had many people complain as to why they never like Android phones)
- iPhone in general is for teenage girls (with every release there is always emphasis on the upgrade of the camera)
- Storage is a joke; not even 128GB model released yet (considering there is no expansion slot)
- Running multiple applications . . . .

There are so many more things I can add, but I feel I will piss off more of you. I was excited for this, and was leaning toward grabbing one. Even though I own a couple of Macs; this unveiling has only shown how Apple is going for the money grab once again. And those of you complaining about not being able to upgrade to the 5 from a 4s give me a break. First world problems I guess . . .

Now that's just about the dumbest thing I've read yet. :rotfl:slap

I'm pretty sure the MAJORITY of people use their cell phone cameras now more than anything. As a family man and someone even with a nice HDR camera I can honestly say my phone gets used the most.

Looks like someone got offended because they have an iPhone. Funny thing is all you did was defend the camera point I made.

As a family man myself I can relate to that. I really can, but I'd rather carry around my point & shoot/DSLR for those kind of moments. And for those who can't afford a camera and only have the one on their phone I understand. But at the end of the day all I see around me is people using it to post pictures on instagram/FB of the dumbest ****. Most of them being younger females.

If your going to accuse my post of being dumb, the least you can do is defend 2 points. As opposed to the least important one.

I think your assessment of cell phone camera user demographics is way off. So yes I believe your post to be dumb.

I would also like to point out that yes I am an iPhone user. That said I'm not offended by your post at all. You can post whatever you want. Just don't be offended when someone calls you out on them when you are clearly wrong. :lol

I'll defend a couple. The new accessories is a moot point. No matter what I get I want what's made specifically for that device. I don't want new product with old product. I've never used more than 32gb of memory on any Android device I've owned so I don't see an issue with needing more memory. It's a phone after all, you people maxing these things out need to get better organized and manage yo **** betta! Haven't used Siri so can't comment on it. I never use voice function on my droids either though so again, not something I'd use. I don't care who manufactures it if it works and lasts. Running multiple apps? Not sure what you mean by this as I can't do that on my droid. I can run an app and switch to another. I can't run two side by side though. Maybe I'm missing something though.

My opinion from what I gather, and if you live in North America you would probably agree. Thank you for clarifying that I am wrong on my own opinion. I didn't know it was even possible to do that. Learn to differentiate opinion vs. fact, life may get easier for you :clap

Depends where you are sitting. I still use a 3GS so all of this looks pretty much amazing.

The connector is an issue if you have a built in car adapter that uses old cable, if you had a nice speaker/dock setup, if you had the xm sky dock.

Just buy the adapter. Yes it's a bit pricy at 30 bucks but it's not like the old items are now useless.

The problem is they are saying the new phone will not work. It will not function "ipod out". Thats a problem.

The fact that the Lightning port uses eight purely digital pins calls into question whether the Lightning adapter would actually work with many cars' existing iPod or even USB ports. Current Kia and Hyundai models, and older BMW models, use an adapter cable that feeds the analog audio signal from the 30 pin connector to a 1/8th inch audio input, and a USB port to feed control signals between iPhone and car. Lightning does not have the capability to send an analog signal, so Apple's adapter will not work in those vehicles.

Good one! minus the good . . . I think I did a good job of assessing a product thus far. But it seems you have a boner for the camera and don't even defend any of the facts that I mentioned. Why is that I wonder? Enjoy this picture in the meantime, may give you some insight on the future of the product you so dearly love . . .
