This show is okay. I don't find any of the characters very interesting though. There are only a few that I can even recall what their names are.

Glad to see Pope back. He's the most interesting one on it. I'm starting to get bored with this.

Incredible? This show keeps getting worse every week. It reeks of changing their minds every week, writing it on the fly. And the acting? Some of the corniest, silliest, worst this side of a cheap syfy channel movie.

Last night's was the worst - the whole concept of sending the kids off makes absolutely no sense. Who would even consider that idea for 10 seconds? And why? If you need to stay there to wait for the other company, leave TWO PEOPLE! All they have to do is stay there and wait for the others to tell them where to go. Send EVERYONE else ahead to avoid the fight. My favorite part was when they said the small children could stay, because the skitters didn't want them...oh yea, let's leave them with us where the skitters are most likely to show up, because they won't take them hostage - they'll just kill them.

And what happened with the blonde chick? Let's see - they capture a skitter alive, and the skitters take one of theirs (the blonde) in retribution. They send back the Noah's son to tell them they have her - and then nothing ever happens with that story line. They don't try to rescue her, they don't try to save her, they don't even actually try to find out why it's so critical to the skitters that they don't have a live one in their possession (perhaps there's something it could tell them?). Even when the captive skitter goes out of it's way to die (if you were being held captive, would you kill your guard with no hope of escape? Unless of course you wanted to get killed yourself...) nobody mentions it. It's like the writers start down a path, and then change their mind, simply ignoring what's already happened. I think there was a point to the doctor's death, or at least there was originally. He saw something with the flashlight or figured something out that required the skitter to kill him if he could, problem is - will the writers ever get back to telling us, or just drop it entirely?

The biggest problem this series is having IMO is, it's basically a drama about humans coping with a disaster. That's it. The whole alien invasion thing is just the catalyst. And that sucks, because it should be the main focus since it's the most interesting aspect of the entire show.

So realistically, the disaster could've been anything, a massive earthquake, a meteor hitting Earth, etc. and you'd have the same exact show. And since the cast and acting isn't very strong (again, IMO) just having that as the main focus isn't enough to carry an entire episode let alone an entire season.

Slowly losing interest in this.

The biggest flaw to me is that they showed too much of the aliens way too soon. Having it sit in a cage with the doctor (Moon Bloodgood) giving it water takes away all of the mystery and suspense for me. Why not use the original George Pal War of the Worlds approach and just show bits and pieces? And get rid of those clunky Battlestar Galactica reject robots....

I've been given this show time to grow on me...it hasn't. Someone mentioned they don't know some characters' names; I just realized I don't know anyone's name. I guess that's why I don't care if any of these people live or die. Well except for that little blonde kid; kill him already. And the main character looking for his kid. I didn't care if he got him back or not. When he did get him back I hoped he died just so that there seemed to be some sort of tragedy. I sense that there is no threat whatsoever from these aliens.

This thing looked so promising in the promos.

We all should know Ben's name by now:rotfl
Seems like they have to rescue his ass once agian:slap
God i hate this show now. You sure Spielberg is involved in this crapfest?

Yea, the whole point of the first half of the season was 'get the kids'. Once they got the kids back they have to lose them again right away, just to get them back again...

Yeah, this show is going downhill. They already renewed it for a second season though, so I wonder if it's doing well.

And it was so obvious that guy was going to do something bad.

Last episode finally started to catch my attention. I found it funny that as the children were being taken ahead of the impending attack it took them less then a minute to get to where they were going.

So when you see a character on TV in like America say they wanna go to Europe or something and in the next scene they're in Europe do you also think Europe is less than a minute away from America? :lol

:wave

If they don't get away from basing the whole show around the kids, I know I won't be watching either.

At least give me the impression of time gone by. These guys left the compound walked about five steps turned right at a tree and they were there.:wave:dance
