No you don't. :lol

But it's fun to battle with people who feel the absolute need too. :D

I love both films.

Personally I don't get why people would hate on older versions of movies. For sure some of them are way over rated with the likes of Total Recall being called one of the greatest sci-fis ever. That's putting it up there with 2001, Blade Runner and Alien. It was good for its time and had a bodybuilder for its lead and while he had charisma Arnold was no actor. What I find hilarious is trolls who flood threads with heir usual rubbish about how great the original movie was and how crap the new one is and how they have to intention of seeing the new one. Talk about an irrelevant opinion.

Hey, you're using this one poll to validate your opinion. So, i'm going to use another.

No, I'm not. That's just the way you see it.

That's exactly what you're doing. You posted the IGN poll as if it'd give us some epiphany that we're wrong. CP suggested the Rotten Tomatoes poll which contradicts the IGN one. Same same though given CP's was actually a MOVIE reviewing website and not a videogame website, I'd say his is considerably more credible. In reality, it's not about the polls, it's about the box office. More people paid to see Avengers than TDKR and they wouldn't have repeatedly paid to do so if it was as bad a film as you're trolling it was. You can piss and moan all you want, nothing is going to change that. :lol

Not that I'm condoning someone trashing Avengers because I loved it but, people did pay ridiculous amounts of money to see Titanic, Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean over and over again, and I think those are average at best...total crap in on a couple of them. But hey, whatever.

I don't recall you trolling that TDKR was going to beat Avengers at the box office, like Alex Logan was. :dunno

haha, No I wouldn't have been either. I don't think a single hero in a film will match box office with a multi-hero film of established hero franchises. It doesn't make sense and I don't even think there's a debate.

Now, hypothetically and just for fun, if we were going to debate An Avengers vs. JLA box office that I could see.

But let's wait see if that ever actually happens.

However I was only stating that people pay tons of money to see films that aren't very good all the time.

I would love to be having that argument. Unfortunately, from the way it sounds, even if they get it off the ground it doesn't sound like they'd have anything remotely competitive. Going by what Void said, the latest rumor is that they will be launching JLA without even debuting the new Batman first, though I still think that's just a rumor because I don't think they'd be that stupid.

Really? It was my understanding that the jla movie would come after the new batman film. At least that's how I took things coming out of the super panel.

I think that's what most of us were expecting. But Void posted another rumor about them postponing the Batman film until after JLA. Though, again I stress, that I think that's just a rumor. If it's true, WB needs to be stripped of their DC properties. :lol

From what I hear there have been huge planning sessions between the studio, filmmakers and DC folks... basically mapping out the whole shared movie universe thing. Snyder and Nolan have been in some of the meetings. And believe it or not they started BEFORE The Avengers opened. DC and the creatives (other than Nolan, who was against it) have been pushing it for a while, but obviously the success of Avengers is what got the studio execs to pay attention, so here we are. Other than Man of Steel in 2013 nothing has been officially scheduled yet.

Yeah it's just a rumour but one I can see happening

DC may want to use Joker again in the first film of the rebooted Batman and one way to distance the film further from Ledger and TDK would be to schedule it post JLA

Also it seems they're pretty anxious to do JLA ASAP and may actually consider going right into it post MoS

Risky business I agree

Edit: was posted before I saw Irishs post above, but doesn't look like there's anything contradictory here :lol

Yeah, of they go with a jla film before getting at least supes and batman out there it's really risky. People need to feel invested for it to do well at the Bo.

I think it's a good thing that they're getting a lot of people together and trying to actually put a plan together instead of just green-lighting a bunch of films. But I do hope there is at least one producer that spearheads the whole thing. Kinda like a Feige, but not as much of a *********. :lol

You wanna hear something really interesting? Don't be surprised if Ryan Reynolds is back as GL in the JL film before a "soft reboot" GL sequel is potentially spun from it. Not saying that's a done deal by any stretch, but it's apparently on the table.

I'm still not convinced. Anyone who isn't intimately familiar with Superman and Batman at this point has been living under a rock for the past 30 years. All of the Marvel properties needed exposure beyond the comic reading public. Even Wonder Woman has had more coverage than Iron Man, Thor, or Captain America (Spider-Man and Hulk are a different story, but only half of that pair had anything to do with Avengers, and they didn't even use the same actor for him).

Agreed. With no established tie-in franchises, there won't be any hype or connection to build a foundation around. I'd love to see a good JLA movie get off the ground but they really only have maybe 2 profitable characters right now.... One being obviously Batman and the other being Superman (maybe - Routh's film did okay but not glorious like the studios wanted and it wasn't received well).

Haven't they already hinted at that, bringing Reynolds back to help introduce Dwayne Johnson as the John Stewart GL?

For it to be the success they're hoping for, they're going to need to attract more than just the comic book nerds. And that requires investing in more characters in solo films to build audience investment in the franchise.
