then..... What Happened??? :lol
I'm guessing you arent much of a football fan thus don't know who Manuel Neuer is. He is the current German and Bayern Munich goalkeeper.

I gave the example yo illustrate that you don't need to take the refuge of lowly theatricals to do a good job of saving penalties.

Speaking about Kahn, I was a huge fan of him and Effenberg in the Bayern Munich of the early 2000s. I was honoured to have been at the stadium to see his last match before retirement. He was an imposing looking guy under the crossbar.

You mean Soccer? and noI dont follow German Soccer.

You probably dont follow the names of the players in the World Cup too then, he played as the goalkeeper in every German game...

Let's hope for an entertaining final. Are Argentina Germany the only teams to meet in 3 finals? I can think of Brazil-Italy twice , but no others off the top of my head.

I've been watching the games with non soccer fans, and every single one of them have said that they just don't see the skills that soccer fans always talk about as the selling point of the game.

They said that Messi, Naymar and Ronaldo were a bore to watch, no magical playing with the ball.

It really has been a boring World Cup hasn't it. :lol

I kid, i've been enjoying it, but I can see how non fans who are trying to jump onboard could be bored after watching Messi's performance against Holland. :lol

Those megastars tend to performs way better in their respective clubs. Messi still has the chance to prove the world that he can single handily win the WC for Argentina like Maradona did. Or like Zidane.

But yeah, most of them were truly a disappointment in this WC. Amazing that Portugal had to beat Sweden to make it to the WC, and it was by far CR7's best match in his career (he won the thing alone) I know he wasn't at 100% on this WC but it was nonetheless disappointing.

The true pride of playing for your country is long gone.

These players go back to their big fancy clubs and get their £200,000 a week wages and kid on they cry and show emotion, ala David Luiz via social media.

...maybe pride for playing for Canada and Scotland lol, (my wife is from Glasgow and I am proudly Canadian)

I think the pressure on the Brazilians to perform was HUGE, and they--both the players and coaches, knew that their team was in tough. The loss of Neymar should not be underestimated either, a BIG what-if.

That's weird, it's been one of the best WC I can remember, only big teams have been lacking, but smaller teams have been on fire and played very exciting matches.

Well, non-fans really don't know anything about football, they think "skills" are the ones they see in compilation videos/Fifa street/freestyle shows, they don't see the subtle twist of the ankle, the perfect control of an airball, the 1st touch passes, the clean tackle, those are the true skills.

Regarding Messi, not only him, every Argentina match has been a yawn bringer, they've played awful.

Right on. Tell me she doesn't miss the place?

It was sad that Brazil had to rely so much on a 22 year Neymar to help them through the tournament. They have always had a 'numero uno' player as their main focus but they also had other world class player around them to help out.

Thiago Silva was as much a loss as Neymar I feel.

If any footballer is being genuine with his emotion it's David Luiz.

That guy genuinely puts his heart and soul into everything and I think he's being unfairly blamed for the entire Brazilian performance.

Yes, he made mistakes but so did the rest of the side.

It's a sad aspect of football culture that the media always has to pick on someone and single them out, with England it's currently Rooney.
