WOW!!!

That's it! That's him! That's Ledger as the Joker.

Quick mid-term update...

Version one, or Pencil Trick head for my Joker head versions, that I worked up between other works this weekend so I would have something to show for my own series of Jokers.

Two things to note, I am offering the added hair to all heads unless you specifically do not want it.
I am also working on variants on that, the texture and look of it for both the Party, and Interrogation versions, as this one is closest to the Pencil Trick makeup but might get more dirtied yet for other variations. This was my first test with the new hair.

This is also the first post movie paint of this head I have actually had time to do, (second paint on it since my original custom figure that has been pretty well documented around here thanks to MaulFan's awesome photos) I have the other variants coming within the next couple of days, so hang tight for those also.

This is the head shown displayed on my own Hot Toys Joker as is. No amendments made other than the head which is mounted on a type B adaptor and placed. Note the hunch look to him now. Much more pronounced even than my custom.

The hair is a newer and much nicer and finer kind than I used on my original custom one, and I can do much more with it.
I will try some messier and dirtier looks with it for the interrogation head and maybe the Party one some also. Just seeing how you like it for now.

yo yo ma that rocks! love it les. how much extra do i need to paypal you for the hair by the way? let me know so i can send ASAP. pencil trick joker looks incredible. can't wait to see the other options. so totally sweet!

My God, Les! That is abso-freaking-lutely FANTASTIC, man! I just scared the bejeesus out of my cat because I yelled so loud when I saw him! (laugh). Great, great work. :banana:banana:banana

I too--- must---resist---

umm yeah like those are figures LOL! Seriously if I didn't know this was your thread I would have thought these where from promo or costume test shots FREAKIN AWESOME!

Great work Les! Hot Toys raised the bar and you have really risen to the occasion. Thank you for thinking to include the hair. It really sets your head apart.

I cannot wait to see the other versions so I can make a decision.

I think the pencil trick Joker is the best yet. Of course, you continue to amaze and bewilder.

HT's bank robber ain't got s$%# on that bad boy.... :monkey3

It takes some talent to better HT's sculptors but I think Les has pulled it off and with style.
Using "real" hair is a tricky business especially on male figures but this head is a stunning example of how effective it can look and makes an already great figure even better.

Les is amazing with the merging of real hair into sculpted. When I shot his original Ledger Joker head, I was blown away at not being able to tell where the hair started.

Hair or just solid sculpt, either way Les' head looks fantastic and those lucky enough to get an order in should be very happy with the final result, and anyone that hasn't put an order in, if there are any openings left, get on it now.

I was one of the few that kind of poo-pooed the idea of "real" hair. MaulFan's pictures were great, but I felt I knew better. I thought sculpted hair is the only way.

Now I'm fully 100% converted.

Les: :bow :bow :bow

Trick is, all real hair probably couldn't work without a lot of hard effort to shape and comb it right and all. Les found a great way of blending the chaotic aesthetic you only get with real and the shape and volume control you get with sculpt.

Wow. Thanks guys.
I admit I am really humbled by your kind words. Thanks.

Been out spending over $300 on my damn BLAZER today! Damn worn out old thing! Old 89 one. Had to get a new alternator and more, and it sucked my afternoon away. That and Ma is getting antsy at her new home now. That too may come crashing down again soon. No rest for the weary... But she does appreciate all your cards and kind words, and the chair. It will go wherever she does. Wish us luck there...

Anyway, head shots to come soon. Pretty much done with all Hudsons and Drakes and a couple of others. So many in that mid to late state of finishment, that a rash of posts to come.
And good ole Sloth is due to come wandering in too! He's gotten smitten with hanging out with some of my other figure characters, so look for a few photos of him with them before he leaves for the Slade Love Palace...
I admit I will miss the big fella. :D

More to come, really soon!

Hey, I just shelled out $300.00 today on a break job. Tomorrow, I have to shell out another $400.00-$450.00 on tires. I feel your pain, man.

Some newly finished stuff!

I really enjoyed this one. I had to match the skin on the head to the rubber, because you can't paint the rubber. But I had fun bringing out the big fella.
Hope Slade approves. Been a long time comin' guy!

More to come soon. LOTS more...
Some more Marines, Ripleys, Indys, Aragorns, Faramirs, Bales, Jokers, Aliens, Predators, Dogs and Cats, sleeping together!!!!

Lots of stuff.

Oh, and a guy named Hicks.

Lots and lots O' Hicks. Another frikkin' HALL of EM!

WOW.... Dude, you did all THAT since I was over there?? Amazing, just amazing. You are a machine, bro. Brilliant work, the whole lot of em. Especially Sloth, it's a masterpiece. I love how you worked that sculpt, really shows off the expression.

Keep cooking man, you are on a ROLL! :rock:rock:rock

I never thought I'd find myself saying that Sloth from the Goonies has a "perdy mouth"...but the detail you've put into that monstrosity of a pie-hole is incredible.

The teeth even look like they have enamel on them.

Bravo.:clap

Great, amazing, astounding work once again Les! I really don't know what to say about your work that I haven't said already. I LOVE IT! :D

Thank the Lord we made it through hurricane Gustav okay. No wind damage other than some broken limbs in a tree. No flooding or property damage for us. Some people in New Orleans, and the small surrounding towns didn't do as well. Most of the area is without electicity right now too. But we have power. We were very blessed again. We made it through hurricane Katrina very well, and made it through Gustav just fine too.

I approve! Amazing--really pulled out everything from the sculpt. I couldn't be happier. Well worth the wait! He's beautiful!

"Your gonna come live with us now. I'm gonna take care of you"

"Sloth luv Les!"

Lol, nice sloth. Those teeth look unsettlingly real. Great job creeping me out. :lol

SLOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic job Les! Can't wait to see more!

oh and all those other heads look great too but how many times do you get to see a Les painted Sloth so he's kind of stealing the show for me.
