re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Changing topics...here's a cool item for anyone into cocktails/spirits. The bar that uses this item is named the "Aviary" and was created by Grant Achatz of "Alinea" fame. I've ordered 3 already...my dad doesnt drink hard liquor but he loves flavored olive oils. Got one for my boss who is a huge tequila fan. Thought I'd share it in case anyone is interested.

There's a cool video but I can't figure out how to get the embedded code to work.

That's really cool, VASith. Very nice design. I'll check into it.

Dammit, now I want one of the exclusive white ones, but think I'll stop myself and get 2 black instead for $175.00 (thinking one for olive oil and one for alcohol). From the picture on the cover of Food Arts and the general design, I was thinking this'd be around $200.00 or $300.00 a piece, so to find out that they're only $95.00 + shipping (less if you buy multiples) seems like a bargain. Gonna sound like a TV salesman, but these would also make great gifts... will have to think on my order a bit but will definitely be getting two. Thanks, VASith. I will let you know when I have my first infused vodka or tequila. :duff

I'm planning a bourbon with sage, thyme, grapefruit peel, cinnamon, allspice, lemon rind, dried blueberries. :thud:

Glad you bought a set...this really is a perfect gift. :hi5:

For tequila the aviary does fresh ginger, dried apricots, orange rind, thyme, and a black tea.

So I went ahead and purchased a Graflex 3 Cell this week... pretty excited to have an actual vintage piece and build a lightsaber out of it. It would be awesome to get a real calculator bubble to go with it, but I don't think I want to spend $70 just to steal a piece of a vintage calculator :lol

Yeah, sadly I'm out of my element here so I'm trusting to some tutorials to find the best/most reasonable stuff out there. On the plus side it seems that only the Graflex handle and bubble are 100% known items... the T Track and D-Ring are just "best guess" items so there is a little room to fudge.

My hope is to spend about as much as I'll get for selling of my MR replica.

Every time I see your signature, I realize I still haven't gotten my collection organized and displayed. I really need to get on that after CVI. Still have to order stands and acrylic stairs.

Okay, you're going over my head, GB... Can you shed a little light on what it is you bought?

It's part of an old camera flash that was used to make the lightsaber hilts in SW.

Flosi's been hanging out in the swamp too much lately. :lol

Hand over your Star Wars geek membership card. :thwak:drink

:lol :lol :lol The smart move would have been to do a quick google search and then act like you knew it all along :lol

Exactly... it's amazing but the ANH and ESB lightsaber are pretty much a stock item with a few accessories (D-Ring, Rubber T-Tracks, Bubble strip or circuit board) added to them.

I just bought one of the above (hopefully it's not a fake ) so I can make one for myself.
