We maybe a wretched hive of scum and villiany, but we're at least a cool and open-minded one :lecture

No droids though... they'll have to wait outside :lecture

I'll be happy if I can be some kind of guardian angel for Gabriel... I love that little bastard so much...

Hey, he is SCARY competitive. We were playing Mario Sports last night, and he wanted to play against me and we've only played on a team together so far. So he beats me in volleyball. Probably should have won by even more than he did but I get a little more of the goofy ways to cheat than he does.... Then we play Hockey, and I score the first four goals. he EXPLODES! I've never ever seen him do this before... ever. He was so mad at me. Crying, and not listening to reason, etc. There's a fire that burns in him to win. He loves all types of games because he wants to play and WIN. Now, I developed that kind of mentality later in my life, but when I was young I could care less.... And it's never been that overboard. Really caught me off guard, but I'm sure as hell not going to just let him win either. He needs to learn to loose and how to strive to improve when he enjoys something. Am I right?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

You are right, Flosi. You don't want to let him win all the time. It's a good lesson to lose sometimes so you realize winning isn't everything.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Yeah, and this may be the only time religion has ever been discussed on a message board that didn't turn into a flamewar after the first post :lol

It might have to do with respect too.... We respect and like each other. Well, except Waller.... No one respects him. :lecture

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

And to learn how to play and enjoy it without getting upset if you don't win.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Unless masturbation is respect, then I do that all the time. :lol

We told him that he would not play anymore if he acted that way. I also tried to explain that beating me when I try, as he did with Volleyball, means a lot more than me just letting him win.... That concept was a little too deep for him though. :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Well... without going into too much unnecessary detail, I don't celebrate Christmas, so no. :monkey2

:horror So no Star Wars holiday stuff at all?! You can not celebrate but still hoard Star Wars holiday items. :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Fury, in my world Han always shoots first and the Falcon is the best thing that has ever happened to space ships.

I never said Greedo was my favorite first shooter!

Speaking of the pot calling the kettle black! :thwak

Or, the Buddhist calling the Buddhist, Buddhist! :lol

How do you rationalize the mounds of coveted SW stuff you own?? Best to send it all to me. :lecture

It's a pickle, no doubt. I struggle with the dichotomy every day.

Wow, the Nostromo is amazing looking... I'd never imagined the prop would be that massive :lol

You should look at this...

I'm far from Buddhist. I just don't practice religion of any sorts. But I was raised Jewish. Other than a party my friend dragged me to, I haven't stepped foot in a temple in 25 years.

This explains a hell of a lot, you cheap bastard! :chase

Yeah, raised Catholic, and although my son goes to a Catholic school I don't practice either, though I do feel I have a relationship with god, or whatever you want to call it. Higher power? Beer? punk42? Vajayjay? Luke Skywalker? Whatever....

I'm just too much of a puss to not believe and accept that my soul is going nowhere-ville once I kick the bucket.

Maybe it's, dreamless sleep, forever...

I want to believe I'll be reunited with my mom, grandparents and anyone else who precedes me one day, but I just don't know.

You are so sweet.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

You are so sweet.

My mom died from Alzheimer's 4 months before my daughter was born. She never knew she was going to be a grandmother. It still breaks my heart when I think about it. One day, I want to be able to tell her about all the great things she missed. :(

Haha, you forgot the g in my name, but thanks for the add. :D

I'm glad to hear that, I like it when people still believe in something even when they don't practice anymore. ...unless it's Buddism... get rid of all your stuff and things that make you happy?! WTH is that?! :lol (sorry fury :monkey1)

As far as going nowhere, I have a cool idea for a movie/book I think would be awesome about reincarnation. I'll have to write it out one day...if even a short story.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

:lecture Scares the crap out of me.

And that is the fear that 99% (pulled out of my ***) of religions are based on.

I find it really hard to buy into the idea of a higher power or afterlife... it's a nice thought and in some ways envy believers, but I just can't wrap my brain around faith :huh

But, I still acknowledge I don't know everything and always accept I could be wrong, so I place myself in the Agnostic camp... with a stronger leaning towards Atheist :lecture

Although I love to decorate for and celebrate Christmas :lol :huh :rock

Me! I gotta have a new Nintendo at Christmastime!

I get the idea of faith and fully support it. Everyone has faith in something to get them through the day. People need to believe in something.

Do they?

This is a great conversation, guys! You'd think we were sitting around Celebration over some beer. :D

That's because we approach family here, and respect one another.

Yeah, and this may be the only time religion has ever been discussed on a message board that didn't turn into a flamewar after the first post :lol

See above.

That's because this crowd ****ing rocks! :lecture

See above.

Her in the Cantina, with this group... we are way beyond such simpleton mentality.

Or what Waller said.

See above...

Harrison Ford is 1/4 Jewish. Not too shaaaaaaby. :lol

I hope so for some of the same reasons.

Yeah my boy sees me as his friend too and talks to me about it all... but sometimes it needs to be reigned in to keep him on the right track.
