I don't really get it either. I thought he was pretty cool in the comics, but he was never was of my top favorite characters or anything. He's kind of an a-hole in the comics a lot of the time, actually. Downey is charming and very likable in the role, but like you said, the only movie I really liked in the trilogy was the first one. I really disliked 3 and the only things I really liked about 2 were Sam Rockwell and War Machine.
That being said, I really liked him in Avengers, so if one of you guys live around Jefferson City, Missouri, hook your old pal Benji up. That was a shameless plug, I know.

Yeah, things have changed, that's for sure. I find the whole Iron Man thing to be kinda funny. He's not that interesting a character, nor are his supporting characters. Hell, the second and third films really stink too if you're just looking at the movies.... really, it all comes down to RDJ, I guess?
