re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

So we are having some brick work done on our porch, and finally after about 2 months the guys showed up today to start. Everything they did today looks great so far.
However, I was pulling the tarps down around the area to keep the cold air off the mortar, when I noticed something flickering in the dark... looked like a cell phone light or something that would flash for a second and then go out. I got closer to it and tried to grab it but couldn't feel anything, saw it flash again and grabbed at it and felt a slight tingle... then I realized it was an underground wire to an outside outlet that had been clipped and was sparking!! So I had Angie turn off the switch and wrapped the wire up. But I then kept noticing an odd smell that I thought was just the mortar mud stuff, but kept thinking it smelled a bit like gas... so I thought I better check the propane tank they left on the porch... and sure enough, they left the valve open, so I closed it.
Then it hit me... had that gas kept empying into the surrounded tarped off porch, and that wire spark kept going off... holy hell! We could've had one hell of a boom! Good thing I noticed them both when I got home! :panic::thud:

OMG!!!!!! :horror:horror

Glad you caught it, buddy.

Wait a second, they didn't confiscate the damaged one? I had to give them my entire box of stuff when I filed my claim! You lucky SOB!!!

I could not believe it at all, especially for a $179 item.

And one for the Jennifer Lawrence fans.

A 13-hour BBC dramatization with 25 performers including Ian Holm. Plus, I needed some cassettes to play on my cassette player. :yess:

That's cool! I admit I like to look around eBay for Middle-earth stuff. I picked a coin that was used at the European Premiere for DOS.

Holy sheet! That stuff scares me silly, ever since I saw that episode of Growing Pains or whatever when the old lamp burned the house down I've been terrified of electricity! That, and my Dad telling me if I paused the VCR too long it would also burn the house down. Now that I own a house I'm so glad we don't use VCRs anymore! :lol

Thank God you found it!

And then the real :panic: :panic: :panic:

Completely frame worthy, and I always love to receive new most excellent Artoo artwork out of the blue. One day, I'll have an entire room full!

That was fast! I only mailed the first batch on Saturday. I tried to include something specific to the guys whose hobbies/favorites I knew.

They're going to arrive all out of order....I shipped 5 on Saturday First Class. Today my wife took the remaining 6 to a different PO and they totally razzle dazzled her into getting Priority. I promise there was no personal bias dictating shipping speed!

The neck is done, and I should have taken a pic of the back of the head as I'm working my way up. The mustache and spot between the eyes was just a bit of a test.

Wookieeeeee!

That looks totally wizard, Rich! If I can get a good Han, I will have to build one.

BTdubs I am officially in for Sideshow Hothies. I even sat my wife down and explained to her. :lol Anybody know where I can get a Snowtroop? Of course Sideshow sells out like the day after I decide to hop on board. :gah:

I think I just read that Something Sexy won a Deluxe Vader last week!!!! Congrats, Sexy!!!! :hi5:

Wow, congrats Sexy!!! :rock

What's up my buddies!!??

Man, Castle Grayskull looks so pretty in the box, I kind of want to keep it sealed forever. Oh wait, that's why I got two! :lol :lol :lol

Now weeding out the figures I don't want to display it with (mostly the NA He-Man ones and random weirdo guys).

2?!?! Damn, you lucky bastard. Keep it sealed, that will be a nice flip someday, should you choose to go that route.

Wow, you really dodged a bullet there buddy. Glad to hear you're ok. I'd say something to the workers. That's some dangerous ****.

I lost my mailbox key about a week ago! :(

Gonna be $40 for a new one, and I know I'll find the old one right after the new one is ready!

This is why I'm glad that my Father In Law is a Locksmith. FREE KEYS!!! :yess:

Cool! I really regret selling a trinket I got from the premiere of Fellowship. It was the One Ring (a cheap casting, but heavy) that came in a little satchel with the movie logo. My brother is a doorman in a fancy building and one of the tenants worked for New Line. She knew I was a LOTR fan and gave it to him for me. Also got one of the PS2 LOTR games fro free from her.

I'm ashamed to say I have not seen Smaug yet. Newborn + snowstorm kept us in this weekend. I dare not go into the movie thread but I hope it was awesome!

My buddy was a the manager of a movie theatre when Fellowship came out and he got that same ring. It was really nice. I got to see Fellowship 2 days before it came out and I was high as a kite too. :lol

That would have been cool to own. Even if you only had it for a while I'm jealous.

Yeah, it was stupid to sell it. Luckily I have more money now and I have tools to cope with the loss.

Actually lately I have been kind of nostalgic for the period of time when Fellowship opened. It was amazing to be so psyched for a movie and have it not only live up to, but blow my expectations out of the water.

I loved all the movies and The Hobbit AUJ but there's something about that first taste....
