Keg night at Whole Foods. They're tapping this:

Never had it before, but all of their other beers are delicious.

-Nice! I've never been lucky enough to have it on tap before - just bottles. It's definitely one of my favorite Christmas Ales.:rock One my other favorites is Sam Adams Old Fezziwig - available in six packs for the first time this season.:yess:

Never tried Great Divide's Hibernation Ale, but they make my favorite Imperial Stout - Espresso Oak Aged Yeti! :rock:drink

Yeah, the Celebration Ale is great. Have you tried SN's Tumbler Brown Autumn Ale? After trying it back in 2009 it's easily my favorite fall beer.:duff

Oh yes! Tumbler is very good. :duff:

Celebration is such a nice crisp IPA thanks to the fresh hops. A friend of mine saves cases, has since 2008, as it ages quite well.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I've got to pick up some Celebration Ale. Winter-wise I only grabbed a twelver of Sam Adams Winter Lager so far. I'm finally finishing off my fall beers - I had a crap load of pumpkin ales, Octoberfests and SN Tumbler (only 2 left in the beer fridge :() this year.

This is definitely my favorite time of year for beer!:yess:

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I was really enjoying Sam's Winter last year. Have you ever tried Sam's Winter Classics pack? My brother and I shared a 12-pack last Saturday. It was a fantastic mix.

Oh hell yeah, it's my favorite variety pack. I think last year was their best to date with the removal of the Cranberry Lambic and no out of place spring seasonal that they are trying to promote. Last years lineup was:

-Boston Lager - can't go wrong

-Winter Lager - always good

-Holiday Porter - Would buy this by itself

-Black & Brew - One of the best Coffee stouts I've ever had

-Old Fezziwig - Excellent X-mas ale

-Chocolate Bock - not too impressed initially, but liked it a lot more after letting it mellow out for 6 months in my beer fridge

I haven't seen this years winter pack yet. I was totally bummed to see that they replaced the Black & Brew with their new White Christmas ale (which sounds pretty good, but I wish they would have axed the Choc Bock instead). I'm a real creature of habit when it comes to seasonal beer buying. :lol I usually get a nice base of Winter Lager established and then buy a winter pack or two to pepper in for some variety.

White Christmas wasn't bad! I liked the Chocolate Stout quite a bit too... I wish they did an Imperial Stout with similat Chocolate ratio... But yeah, I was really happy with it... New Belgium has a nice assortment 12-pack for the holidays too!

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

A guy that I work with is in a beer club as well and is always shipping beer for his cross country trades.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

What carrier does he use?

Legally you have to be licensed to ship between states.
Like they say, it's only illegal if you get caught. :lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

He uses Fed Ex. I forget what he lists the contents as, but I think he claims that its "Homeade Apple Cider" to explain any sloshing around from inside the box. I don't think any box that he shipped was ever damaged in transit, but I know he's received a wet box or two.:lol I don't know what happens when the carrier comes across a damaged package that is obviously beer, but I'd imagine there's some 'splainin to do.:horror:lol

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

:lol Someone has been watching too much Moonshiners.:lol

I wish. We don't have cable and I haven't even seen one episode. :(

I researched it while trying to get a bottle of scotch to CVI for a fellow freak. The things some people do to transport alcohol is crazy and ballsy, but it makes for a good read. :lol
