re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Thanks, i need luck! this should be interesting... I think I'm bringing too much stuff, but we shall see...
Wampa has brown stains in areas. Not very white at all... :( I have two, and both are poor...

Poo stains?

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Good luck and have fun tomorrow! :rock
Thanks, I'll try! If I don't do well, I probably won't do it again. But if I do well, this may be a regular thing for me... I just finished organizing everything. I'm finally ready...

Poo stains?
Funny you should mention that. Besides the fact that the answer may be yes, my OTHER Wampa (Hasbro 12") seems to have pee stains. That one is MIB, so I'm not sure what happened. It seems to appear by all of the joints (arms, legs, neck). i was gonna bring this to sell, but I figure it won't sell unless I go really really low, plus it would take up a LOT of space on the table... So I'm keeping it home...

I think the Hasbro 12" Wampa always had the pee stains straight out of the box.

Toy show on Super Bowl Sunday? :dunno

So much gay hate today in here... Sheesh... :(

I have a second one, and it isn't like that. But somebody else told me the same thing. Ones I see on Ebay have very slight yellowing. So I dunno...

Yep, every year they do a toy show that day... Gay hate? Where? There's barely been any posts today...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Fantastic! Congrats Thom!!!

I truly believe it all happens for a reason. My wife is having problems at work and it looks like she might be out of a job soon. With what's been going on I keep telling her that it all happens for a reason and that maybe this is her sign to bow out for better things.

My girl works in the same department as me except I've got a permanent position and she's 'casual'. They've put the squeeze on her hours, and after 15 years' loyal service she's pretty annoyed about it. We have no idea where she can go from here... re-training in a different field? Business opportunity? Dunno... Some days we're very positive about it and talk it up as an opportunity, other days are harder and a bit of a strain. I'm not into the whole fate thing, but regardless, positivity is key. Gotta chase the silver linings - I hope your wife comes through any job loss better, faster and stronger than before MadCow. Hang in there!

He must be referring to the autocorrect gag? Seemed innocuous to me, but I'm not gay.

That's caused by glue. Over time it turns yellow and the color seeps through. It's worse when you have gas heating.

I found this post from 2006 on Rebelscum.com. Maybe this is why there are different looking ones out there. As I recall, there were ones out that with that kind of yellowing on them when they were on the shelves back in the day.

There were two waves of this released as a Target exclusive. The first one sold out extremely quickly (Yes, there was a time that Hasbro 12inchers were HOT and highly desired). Hasbro then produced a second shipment to replace the first release that vanished so quickly.

Since they were different production runs, the Wampa looks different in each run. In the first run, the yellowing was more subtle and looked more natural. In the second run, the yellow was brighter and looks more like yellow stains here and there on him.

So, it depends on whether you are getting a first or second run Wampa.

It's better to have too much than not enough. You can always fill spots as stuff sells... Yeah that vintage Wampa is tough to find nice and clean. I've thought about getting cheap one and trying the peroxide thing.

He must have been out of Wampa Wipe.

This is pretty much how I remember them as well. Some worse than others. Maybe it's a combination of production variation and aging.

Thanks Lejuan! My wife has a degree and more than enough experience to finding the same, if not better opportunity in her field. I jusr don't know if this has jaded her opinions about her field. She's taking it day by day so we'll see. :)

Thanks for the input, guys. I may bring it along to try selling...

Interesting. I don't like the Indy ones. Too cluttered, and you can't see what the colored lines are. The Star Wars ones clearly show the ships, so you can see what each colored signifies. I like those... I don't know how you find this stuff! You have a knack for finding cool SW things online...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I don't think I like the forum's new policy on for-sale threads being deleted after they reach the 60 day age mark. Retail stores don't always sell through their stock of figures marked at below Sideshow retail price in 60 days, so I don't understand why 1/6 figure collectors are expected to on here.

Since I've been looking for art ideas, I've found all kinds of different things. It's fun seeing what's out there.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

New job starts tomorrow. Pretty nervous, not sure why. I know it's going to be a good opportunity but this is my first new job in 7 years and I hate change. But on the other had change makes us grow. So I'll celebrate growing my drink beer today, watching Arsenal then the Super Bowl.

Found a new obsession. Model trains! :panic: loved them as a boy and I think my daughter will enjoy watching them go around the track. Got a Kato N scale VRE (Virginia railway express) set...my wife used to ride it years ago. Also got so e extra track pieces and a bridge. Ultimate plan is an autumn scene with trees and a vineyard in the middle. Prob have two oval tracks and add a freight train.

That's stupid. You should be able to have your sale thread open as long as you have something for sale. Besides, i don't wanna see my thread deleted. It's boner-rific :lol

Model Trains? Who are you, Sheldon Cooper? :p

Good luck tomorrow! I too am not a fan of change but it's inevitable I've learned. 3.5 years is the longest that I've held one job. That seems to be the state of careers these days.

I'll be watching the game at work tonight. We're having a little party, it should be fun.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I posted this on Facebook but I figured I'd post it here too.

I stumbled upon WhitePages.com today. This site had my full name, address, home phone number, birthdate and place of employment listed. Scary thing is I'm not on the phone bill so I shouldn't be listed anyway. I highly recommend everyone going to this site and seeing what information they have and getting it removed. Follow the link below for details on how to remove your information from the site.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Thanks, shropt. I'll have to check that out... Just checking in quick before heading to a super bowl party... I stayed at the toy show til 2pm (it opened at 11). I got $100 before the doors even opened. Took in an additional $253 after, so $353 total. i can't believe it! I didn't sell anything exciting. $95 was from DVD's, the rest collectibles. Ahhh, that felt good! After deducting the $20 for the table, and $32 I spent at the show, I cleared $301. Here are pics are what I bought. The first one is a Yoda Lego knock-off. It was completely unassembled. I put it together without opening the sealed bag. The arms were difficult, but I got it. There were other lego knock-offs, but I only needed Yoda...
