re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

:lol I'm pretty sure it was the mid to late 80's. I think I was in high school. I remember they showed Bolero and My Tutor. I probably still have the VHS tapes somewhere! I recorded them all. It was on Channel 18 here, which is just a local independent station.

That's a movie I haven't seen since then. Wow! :rock

This was my **** - WPIX Channel 11 (their logo was the twin towers when I was a kid).

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I'm gonna try to watched at least the original next week sometime.

I'm happy to hear it. Hopefully, you'll enjoy it.

Was that when they'd show the soft core porn w/o any nudity? Can't remember if that was USA, or who... but pretty funny that was a thing :lol

Since we didn't have premium channels I just cranked it to the scrambled stations :lecture

I wanked it to a ton of scrambled Spice Channel and Adam and Eve Channel in the nineties. I still remember when I called one of the premium sex phone lines as a kid, 1-900-WET-FART because I thought it was funny. When my mom asked why there was a 900 number on the phone bill, I told her I was calling the Nickelodeon hotline to talk with the Rugrats. I didn't even like that show. I should've at least said I was calling to talk to Doug. What a lame excuse! :rotfl

That's hilarious! You're quite knowledgeable in the Japanese monster movies. You've taught me a LOT today! I was gonna comment earlier to your post about Godzilla 1984 being the start of one of the eras. Was that released in the US as "Godzilla 1985", and they added Raymond Burr into it?

It was. The original Japanese version of the movie didn't feature Raymond Burr, but he was spliced into the heavily edited American release. It was just like what they did with the original Gojira movie from 1954. That movie also ignored all the movies before it other than the original one.

New midlife crisis. I want to buy a Vespa. :slap

Go ahead and tease. I can take it. :rotfl

I have a cheapo scooter and love it. It makes me happy every time I ride it. At Halloween I put on a ghost costume and ride around the neighborhood on it. The kids have taken to calling me the ghost rider. :D

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

:lol

No soft core porn, but there was plenty of gratuitous nudity edited out of the movies. It was a lot of horror and stuff from companies like Troma and Full Moon, B-movies. It was on USA network and had Gilbert Gottfired and Rhonda Shear as host.

Oh damn! Rubbing one out to Rhonda Shear was a weekly ritual. It was like a race, seeing if you could finish before the commercial break.

I think I'd be fun to ride on our country roads out here. My wife said maybe for our anniversary gift this October since we've been married 15 years.

These are the roads a few minutes from me.

All this talk of t-shirts made me check out Target. Will they get more stock or was this a one time deal? I want that AT-AT shirt but it's unavailable right now.

Think I really want to quit teaching right now.
