re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I forget which tour, but Primus opened up for Rush back in the late 80s or early 90s.

I probably would've dropped dead after seeing something like that.

I could've bought a lot more. There were at least 10-15 other albums I needed.

I've got a huge list of stuff I'd love to own. We have a really good record store about an hour from me but it's expensive.

That's friggin awesome! I still really need to see Rush. For Father's Day my wife gave me two tickets to see Primus so a buddy and I went on Friday night. It was amazing. And a funny thought, Les Claypool's idol is Geddy Lee.

Another funny thought...

furystorm's idol is MadCow.

Listening to an Incubus record now, and one of the lyrics mentions the girl is like a "pink Boba Fett".

Im not sure about Rush but yeah to seeing Primus. I have seen them a couple times, last time was years ago , they did a double set concert. First half was they played like 7 or 8 songs from any albums but sails the seas of cheese, then took like 30 min break and then played the whole sailing the seas of cheese. Then like a month later they released the recording of all of those concerts for sale. I had GA tickets and was maybe 5 rows back. Watching Claypool was insane to see that close play and it was crazy now many different bass'es he used to get the unique sound he has on all his songs.

Ours close at 11, at least in this town. I'm sure it's different in Copenhagen. No idea when they open, that's WAY too early for me :lol

I've been a huge Primus/Claypool fan since Seas of Cheese was released. The only other time I saw them was on the Antipop tour but one of my friends got really sick and we had to leave halfway through. That tour you're talking about was when they got back together after a hiatus and I was supposed to go a show but stupid family stuff came up. While Claypool was doing his solo stuff (Flying Frog Brigade, Purple Onion, Oysterhead), I saw him 5-6 times. Each time it was a small club show and I got to stand at the railing and watch, even met him a few times. He's absolutely amazing to watch play live. I've been playing bass almost half my life and still can't wrap my head around how fluid and flawless of a player he is.
