Hummmm I wonder what you uncle was doing in Brazil for "2 years"???

I too spent "2 Years" in Brazil and learned to like Futebol. Still love American Football better. I was in Brazil in 1994 when Brazil won the World Cup---CRAZY STUFF!!!!

REAL Madrid VS REAL Salt Lake!!! Can't wait!!!

Yes I'm sure you know the real reason he was there. :D The Real Madrid game should be sweet. Real Salt Lake is going to suck, but who is actually going to that game for Real Salt Lake?

I just saw the replay and man, Germany sucked. They did win but they need to get a lot better if they want to make to the finals, or even the quarter finals. I give props to Costa Rica for making it this far though. :chew

Well since I am from Belgium I grew up with football/soccer and I love it... yep I am a woman that loves most sports... lol. Belgium did not make it... so for me it does not really matter who wins... I always vote for the underdog to make it more exciting. May the best team win... now let me drool some more over Beckham :monkey5

Yeah Germany's defence was really bad but going forward they have some pretty good players. I was impressed by Bastian Schweinsteiger. Overall the play very uncharacteristic of usual German team (which are usually very defensive)

I love FOOTBALL both playing and watching, and am an Arsenal fan ( nicknamed the gunners hence my board name! ) I go to as many games as I can and from next season I have a season ticket at the new stadium :joy
As for the world cup its the greatest sporting event on the planet, I cant wait!! I went to some of the games at the world cup in France in 1998 and it was fantastic!

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!!

HEY!!
Do any of you soccer/football fans who are 1:6 enthusiasts as well, have access to the aforementioned Kick-o-Mania figures? I am only in need of Michael Ballack [? not sure if I spelled that right] and Benjamin Lauth.
Can anyone help me out??
Thanks.

Where can you get these Kicko-Mania figures at???

Sweet!! Thanks Ironman. Now I gotta see whether they ship to the States?
What did you guys think about England vs. Paraguay game? Poor guy is going to be crucified once he goes back home for the own goal.

thamesvalidude, they don't appear to have the two I need. :monkey2
carbo-fation, good luck. I have not found any place that I can afford to have them bought and shipped from. :(

Slow night at work, so just a quick note about how crappy US played in the first match, and were without any confidence, cohesion, or speed. All this talk about their FIFA ranking, and then they go and piss the bed. Looking forward to some more matches later in the week, but still sour that all of the good US players (none of whom actually play in the US, since MLS is basically a feeder league to Europe) couldn't put together a decent attack, and placed the ball nicely for the Czechs to score.

On a brighter note, the Chicago Fire just opened their new (gorgeous) stadium, and my girlfriend and I have seats two feet away from the player's bench. Great seats, and it is cool to be able to see a player's faceas he is about to pass or cross the ball, and be able to read the play on the field sooooo much better.

The Fire tied their match at 3-3, but it was still a great night.

The US really played horrible. I expected much better, though I understand that the Chechz are an awesome team. Brazil match gave me some hope. They didn't play too well, so there is the chance of them not making it to the finals.

The one match I am most looking forward to is Argentina vs. Netherland. That is a finals match-up right there. :chew
