Slow night at work, so just a quick note about how crappy US played in the first match, and were without any confidence, cohesion, or speed. All this talk about their FIFA ranking, and then they go and piss the bed. Looking forward to some more matches later in the week, but still sour that all of the good US players (none of whom actually play in the US, since MLS is basically a feeder league to Europe) couldn't put together a decent attack, and placed the ball nicely for the Czechs to score.
On a brighter note, the Chicago Fire just opened their new (gorgeous) stadium, and my girlfriend and I have seats two feet away from the player's bench. Great seats, and it is cool to be able to see a player's faceas he is about to pass or cross the ball, and be able to read the play on the field sooooo much better.
The Fire tied their match at 3-3, but it was still a great night.
