what's with the no love for the MLS?

I know that the level of play can't even begin to compare to European clubs, but the games can be fun, tickets are cheap, and a lot of players get snapped up to play overseas. Okay, so that last part sucks, because the MLS is just a feeder league, but it can still be fun! The play just seems...slow sometimes compared to what else is available:eek: .

I have nothing against the MLS. It's just that I lived in Germany for almost 11 years and I am accustomed to the European league. I tried to get into MLS but it just didn't do it for me.

Germany played their best game so far. I was out of my seat every time Klose had the ball. But they need to improve their defense because Mexico and Argentina won't be as easy.

I am upset that Argentina won!! Now Germany is going to have a real hard time!!
Don't worry, be happy!
In germany we are pretty satisfied and proud about the playing of our team.
Argentina vs. Germany will be a great game and that's what a world cup is about.
You have to beat the best to be the champ.

Go Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana

now now, don't underestimate the germans and think too highly of argentina, at this stage, no teams can be considered poor.

argentina needed extra time to beat mexico, and their first goal was actually an own goal right? though messi's goal should have stood. :)

You're right! I need to give Germany some more credit. I'll have nothing to worry if they play like they played against Sweden.

Did you guys watch Portugal and Netherland? What a match! So many fouls and just overall such an emotional game.

I'm in the U.K and quite enjoying the football.Looking forward to next year for the RUGBY World cup more though.I read someone quote recently that ....
'Football players spend and hour and a half pretending to get hurt whereas Rugby players spend the same time pretending not to be hurt'.The difference in atmosphere and attitude at both sports is also like chalk and cheese.I'll keep going to rugby matches, mingling with ALL fans and having a good time without fighting/bad blood and leave the football me thinks as I did'nt really like the feel of the atmosphere at the few f/b games I've been to.Anyone just see the Netherlands/Portugal game? What a shambles!! 16 yellows and 4 reds..thats got to be a record has'nt it?
Don't get me started on that American football business either!!

that match was crazy! 4 reds and 16 yellows??? sounds more like a brawl than a match. i don't think the portugese and the dutch were ever enemies or something like that, not quite sure why both sides were so charged up towards each other. they are not known to be teams playing rough.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that neither team has ever won the World Cup. Both come very close every time but end up losing. A lot was on the line for both teams I guess. The Netherland especially had a lot to prove since they didn't even qualify for the last World Cup, and the world cup before they lost to Brazil in the half final.

People these days...
So what did you think about the match between UKR and SUI? I thought it was even the entire time. It could've been anyones game up until the last minute. Of course UKR goalie deserves a nice pat on the back for his awesome saves.
