Um....it says it's got the same value as THREE DOUBLEDOWNS.

So.....no. It is not healthier.

Re-read what I wrote. I didn't say it's healthier than a double down, I said it's healthier than OTHER things out there, the same reasoning applied to make the double down seem healthy.

Besides, I'm pretty sure if you look through the double down thread, you'll find a few people who claim to have eaten two or three in one sitting, but they are worshiped as gods over there.

i mentioned this to some people at work and one guy said it's a damn good idea and he's gonna make his own this weekend. he wanted to know the name but i couldn't remember so i told him it was called an "open grave".

It's just the sheer amount of carbs from the bread that's excessive, otherwise, it's just another cheesburger.

That being said, I wouldn't eat it still.

Stupid idea. It's just a cheeseburger with more bread. How dare it be compared to the genius of the double down.

A BK Whopper with cheese (which, I think, qualifies as "just a cheeseburger") has the following nutrition info:

720 calories
44g fat
14g sat. fat
1.5g trans fat
85mg cholesterol
31g protein
51g carbs
11g sugar
1240mg sodium

So, blaming this thing's lousy nutrition stats on its bread is just silly. Two extra slices of bread doesn't add 800 calories and 50 grams of fat.

I think the Double Down would be better if they eliminated one piece of chicken and stuck what's left between a biscuit. And I think this would be better if they eliminated a grilled cheese and stuck the burger in the grilled cheese. But I'm man enough to admit I'd like to try it. God help me. One day I'm going to have a grilled peanut butter, banana, honey, and bacon sandwich (also known as The Elvis) too.

Sorry. I tried it, didn't care for it. Tossed one piece of chicken and added a biscuit and thought it was better.

There is nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all. But you're also man enough to know that you like it in spite of it being bad for you (kind of like Dino and his booze ;)).

I have to admit, however, that the Elvis makes me want to :yuck because of the bacon. I might like to try one without the bacon, and grilled with a more reasonable substitute for the butter. In fact, that might just be workable. :D

Anyone who eats a Double Down and doesn't also eat this concoction is a hypocrite, because I guarantee it is healthier than some other things you can find out there.

sorry will not try it and i'm not a hypocrite, i just don't eat beef and it has nothing to do with health reasons. Also can't try it because there are no Friendly's around here, never heard of it till now.

I never mentioned calories. I am talking about the idea behind it. Duh. The double down gave us something new, Chicken as bread. This is just mix and matching the same ingredients that a cheeseburger has, hence the "cheeseburger with more bread" title I gave it.

Obviously there will be more calories because of the size of the burger (a restaurant burger vs. Burger King burger is 1/3-1/2 lb) and the type/amount of cheese. That plus the bread is the 800 cal.

Yup, me too. I think I've found my post-workout snack for tonight. :yess:

Sorry, but I would never eat Smart Balance and other butter substitutes. Believe it or not I try to eat as much non-processed and natural/organic food as possible and the one thing I do not understand is the notion of butter substitutes as healthier. Smart Balance is a highly processed mixture of esterified oils mixed with other combining agents. Butter is much better for you because it is all natural and therefore the body is more equipped to process it.

I think you misunderstood the intent of my post. It was merely meant to illustrate the absurdity of so many of the comments made in the double down thread, where the fact that there are worse things out there than the double down (and there are worse things, many of them) somehow justified consuming double downs as a healthy alternative to those other things.

I'm sorry if I offended you in any way.
