Revisionist history? Yeah it’s really hard to believe that a company like WB could screw things up. :lol
No that's not hard to believe at all, but to give Snyder a pass for his bloated approach to those movies is in my opinion willful ignorance. Watchmen, BvS, ZSJL - he's shown time and again that he has difficulty telling his stories in what the movie business considers a reasonable allotment of time.

My main point that i’m trying to make is that yes while ZS is not perfect I mean who is even the directors who made the great action movies of the 80s have some real stinkers on their resume including Steven Spielberg so going back to my main point is that Warner Bros themselves sabotaged their own DC property christ their own studio for crying out loud it wasn’t ZS that played fast and loose with merger bonuses that was those ********* acting out on their own gross greedy malfeasance.

It’s not like their intentions were all about saving their studio from interest rates and tax protections if was all about personal aggrandization at the expense of their responsibilities towards their filmmakers, actors and customers remember that ZS wasn’t the only victim of their gross selfish negligence.

It's so true of so many studio execs. Most of them were never creatives or care about the source material. It's only about money for them.

I mean getting Wheadon in to Marvelise JL just shows how little they really know about quality movie making. I bet they were thinking, "Make it like Marvel and we'll easily make $1B straight up and pay for all that additional work".

Anyway I guess at least Gunn has the movie making experience behind him so that's something.

But jury is still out for me. As I've said before I have an increasingly lower expectation that things will turn out well, with Zack's vision not being incorporated at all.

Yeah I already accepted that we’re moving on from finishing ZS’s Batman arc I just needed to call out Gunn being hailed the so called savior that Snyder was supposedly incapable of reaching those heights himself.

Besides i’m just instigating Buffinator to come after a man with only 1 kidney due to cancer just so I can call him a bully on here lol

No one was giving Snyder a pass, but to act like WB (who has proven to be inept time and time again) is only partially at fault is laughable. It’s obvious WB wanted to play catch up with marvel, they didn’t want to take the time to slowly build out the world and characters. There’s no rule in the movie business about a reasonable allotment of time. Some of the highest grossing movies ever made have HUGE runtimes.

BvS was studio interference (adding the Doomsday sequence and WW reveal), ZSJL was combining two films into one.

Nah bro it was ZS that demanded 15 movies rolled into 1 it was the executives who had the clear creative vision of Whedon’s understanding of women rights in Hollywood lol

You're being trolled here T800. This reads like a debate between an adult and a child. :lol
I know damn well you ain’t talking bout me . That’s why nobody likes Snyder fanboys. You get all pissy when someone challenges your opinion of the movies. I’ll never understand how this bland director got such a toxic fanbase of followers who think his movies are pure perfection. Boggles my mind 😂

Well if you're at fault but not completely to blame then by definition you're only partially at fault. :lol Let's not get bogged down with semantics. And while it's likely the WB execs deserve a higher % of the blame here all I'm saying is Snyder (especially after their meddling with BvS) either purposely or stupidly ignored their wishes and doubled down on the dark and bloated in his JL over bright and concise. I'm not saying he shouldn't have stuck to his guns, only that ignoring management direction in any business is a surefire way to get fired lol.

p.s. - WB didn't really have a reputation for ineptitude UNTIL the DCEU/Snyderverse debacle. Their previous foray into CBMs (Nolanverse TDK Trilogy) was quite successful as I recall.

It does feel like I'm having a conversation with my kids :panic:
So hold up. I say the GA doesn’t like the Snyder movies and it feels like you are having a convo with your kids instead of actually presenting better facts instead of

“Derp but it’s the highest grossing film with Superman that means the GA loves it”

Damn I bet your kids destroy you in debates .

Is it? He had one movie. We bearly knew the character. Than Zack kills him in the second basically with zero build up when the character is not even established properly and you are not even attached to him. The fight with Doomsday is bad anyway. There is basically no build up towards it. Typical third act like in Black Adam. It just happens. It supposed to be a big thing (his death) yet it has no impact on the viewer on emotional or any level except wtf just happened. This is how I see it. I suggest watch The Death of Superman animation. IMO this is how you do this. There is an emotional impact before and throughout and after the fight and also there is an actual build up towards the Superman and Doomsday clash (who became an established threat in the movie). In BvS he is a cave troll who is just there for the big CGI fight.
Yea they don’t seem to understand that. Imagine if civil war was the second mcu movie. Doesn’t feel earned. How anyone can look at bvs and say “yea I definitely see his growth. What a journey” is hilarious

That’s just it, Warner bros. wasnt partially to blame, it was 100% their fault. They were so obsessed with competing with Marvel that they didnt even stop to look at what made Marvel so successful in the first place. Patience is not in WB’s vocabulary. I’m glad Snyder did ignore them and made the movie he wanted to make because we obviously wouldn’t have his cut of Justice league (which is liked by the majority of fans and critics alike). In the end if they just would’ve stuck with Snyder then there’s no doubt his film would’ve made more money than the abomination that was Whedon’s cut.

P.S. I don’t know where you’ve been but WB has a history of making just as many bad DC movies as good ones, especially before the Snyderverse/DCEU.

Superman 3 & 4, Superman returns, Jonah Hex, Green lantern, Catwoman, Supergirl, Constantine, Steel, etc.

Do you think Snyder wanted to make a bvs movie that lead into JL? Was that his intention? Serious question. Do you think WB pushed him to create that bloated mess in bvs? Maybe he wanted to make a mos2? Or something else. I don’t think Snyders plan was to jump from Superman to JL. I don’t blame the guy fully for what happened as I don’t think he wanted to rush the JL either but the studio forced him
