Ill complete the fellowship if Sideshow does but beyond that anything else better be some amazing s**t for me to open my wallet.
Too many other cool things coming out.

I snagged one. Damn glad to myself. He is my favorite character of LOTR by far, so he's as good as bought.
I am stymied at the slow purchase though. I mean, this is Gandalf! Damn!

Anyway, just glad I could snag an EX.:chew

Why is $90 too much? Care to elaborate like the others who have talked about the price being too high?

because its probably gonna be on a glued elbowed arms, buck body! thats why its too high...the detailing is great...the body sucks

what kind of poses are people going to try with gandalf that needs another body type, this isn't darth maul. i'd like a new body but this one being a buck doesn't affect my decision to buy. to each their own.

They've said for quite a while that developing the LotR 12" is a lot more difficult than any other line they've done. Many people said they'd pay higher prices for the LotR because of this. This guy is pretty loaded and and since the costume isn't form fitting I can't really see the need for a different body for him.

But if the price really does turn people off and he doesn't sell better than the other LotR figures I fear that this will be the last one no matter what they have in the pipeline.

I don't think a new body is really "necessary" for a character like Gandalf, but I reckon folks want to feel like they're getting their money's worth. Without some sort of upgrade, it's hard to swallow a $20 price hike.

Yeah, I'm late to the party. ;)

I ordered the Exclusive Gandalf the Grey without hesitation. Then went back and actually looked it over closely: the figure and the price...

The figure looks fantastic. The sculpt and paint apps, simply amazing. That IS Ian McKellan as Gandalf. Great job, all around!

Needless to say, I'm certainly not happy with the price hike. I'm getting the Fellowship Nine regardless but beyond that, I don't know. If I do continue with the LOTR line, it will be at the cost of other SS collectibles. My "hobby funds" are getting pinched already. Price hikes aren't helping...:monkey2

Or maybe it could change the way they price. :D

Truthfully, I am not expecting a new body. I am sure sideshow would've said something about it by now. That said, I am still going to get GtG because he's one of my most wanted figures. But others don't feel that way and as Darklord Dave said, this line might see its end soon. :monkey2

We're going to have fun putting him in a "You Shall Not Pass!" pose!

That was sarcasm.

Maybe they want to save the body announcement for Indy?

As a HUGE starwars fan.......
I just had to buy this!!!!:chew
Seriously the headsculpt is amazingly detailed and i like the accessories included.
My first foray into the LOTR line:emperor
price is regardless to me-i pay in Aussie dollars,so it's going to be expensive anyways...THIS is a must have for me

I just hope they are upgrading their body, because if so, I will be back hanging on Sideshows leg once again. With the upgrade, they will be competitive again against Hot toys and medicom
