Gandalf the White PF - Official Picture thread

My exclusive jsut arrived. I LOVE it. The costume detailing is just amazing. The head is a little large for the body, but with the robes flowing out over the arms like they do you really don't notice it IMO. I think the sculpt is quite good, but not "great".

Overall a vry solid PF that I'll be happy to keep. Pics later.

My Ex arrived today 101/500 just thrilled with this PF, it really is SO much better in hand!! Nice to get a lowish number too. Funny thing about this is that I didn't get any shipping or tracking notice it just arrived!! First time thats ever happened from SS, I'm not complaining as I didn't expect it till next week or at least a few days after the tracking number was issued so a great surprise to come home to!!!! Post pictures later

Well, most people (including myself) prefer the figures (whether they are PF or 12" or whatever) to look like the actor who played the part. Likeness is a big deal to a lot of people. And fair is fair, Sideshow is beside the mark with some of their figures.

To me personally, the likeness of Frodo and Gandalf the White was of. Lurtz was a big hit, so is Aragorn.

I'll put it this way, I agree that Lurtz is the King in the p.f. line. He is that good. The Frodo likeness is decent, is it great? Honestly, no. But, it's not terrible either. My biggest gripe on Frodo is his pose (it bothers me alot more then the Gandalf pose everyone complains about, which doesn't bother me at all), you can't really put him up to high because then you don't see his face as he is looking up.

The Gandalf likeness is very good. Is it as good as Lurtz? Nope. But, it is better then Frodo and it does look like Sir Ian McKellan.

Next up is Aragorn, which to me looks like Viggo stepped right off of the set of the films, just like Lurtz. I just hope the production pieces come out as nice as the prototype.

yeah. it seems every time we get the best likeness ever, something with the paint goes horribly wrong. i hope that isnt the case with aragorn but the SS beard syndrome frightens me.
