The OT aren't perfect films. They are entertainment.

I hate the fact that people think their is something wrong with you if you are happy with the super special editions.

AMEN!!!!!!

Absolutely. I love the way the SE just totally opened up Cloud City in ESB. You could see out windows into what was going on outside the main action and it completely eliminated the claustrophobic feeling that it had in the original.

And I am sorry (well not really) but I do prefer Hayden at the end.

I also don't think people should be all up in arms about these new dvds untill they are in the stores with the specs on the package.

I think that pretty much wraps it up folks. Goodnight.

As a matter of fact, I AM fine with the Jedi Rocks scene. The Max Rebo band was always hokey-looking, from Sy, with her big red lips and spindly legs on a yellow body with blue spots, Droopy McCool (don't tell me Lucas saved all his ridiculous names for the prequels) who looks like a cross between a mushroom and a pig, to Max himself; a big blue elephant that plays the piano.

So Lucas added three hot alien backup singers and a yuzzum. Big friggin deal. Oola still gets eaten.

Lapti nek was no great shakes.

I LOVE the SE's. I think Lucas did a fine job updating the films so that, technically, they can stand next to the prequels. I'd like more changes. Give me all CG Yoda in ESB and ROTJ. Have Old Ben's ghost morph into Ewan as Hayden fades into the scene. Go ahead! It's still Star Wars to me.

Oh God....shoot me now.

;)

Lapti Nek: I would have liked to have seen them update the characters with CGI but keep the original music. It would have been an interesting challenge to redo the scene without changing it completely.

Well now % " is a strong word in'it?! :D I try not to be an elitist with the OT, but some of the SE changes really do bother me, and that is why I tend to frown on them. Personally I would much rather have no CG than shotty CG, and many of the changes in the OT are just that, shotty. From the entire Jabba scene (ouch!) to the booger on the uvula of an obviously imposed character, the ending of ROTJ, none of those city scenes look at all realistic --- I just don't care for that. Sure, some effects are nice, but again I will take the "old fashioned" space scenes over what appears to me to be completely artificial effects. I still get goosebumps when I see the Star Destroyer at the beginning of ANH, it holds up with me. Aside from that, some of the changes were really questionable, I think it is quite warranted to baulk at Hayden's inclusion, and yes I understand why some would like it. Certainly in an ideal world there would be an opportunity for both camps to be satisfied, but of course with the revelation of the OT in this format - that remains to be seen.

I don't miss Vader's eyebrows though .... :lol

So Han doesnt shoot first, doesnt change his character one bit, his still gets lighter and lighter and the OT goes on.

I disagree with you here. Han not shooting first totally changes his character.

Show of hands at the number of people that saw Han shoot second, stop the tape/get up and leave the theater, and never watched another second of any Star Wars movie ever again.

Funny, reading that ex-wife bit on TBones site does shed new light on the subject.

And as every man knows, you will do everything possible to keep your ex-wife from getting any of your $$$.

Looks like you can get a card of Hans Solo, if you order from SWS! :lol :rotfl Not to be confused with his equally muscular brother Frans.

And it's not as cool anymore. I always got a chuckle out of that scene.

And "Jedi Rocks", or whatever, is horrible.:monkey1
