this movie needed good actors, not good comedians, I mean, Ellen DeGeneres is a great comedian right? but is she a great actress? Kathy Griffin, great comedian, but, good actress? Lisa lampanelli? comedian good, Actress?
I think the other two ladies might be good comedians but i think they could have done better, I think I Would have preferred Sarah Silverman because she has more of a range. shes good in dramatic roles as well.

if you are only good at comedy, well, thats not really a good actor, just a good comedian. I know this IS A comedy, but this is also a sci fi movie with a little bit of horror in the mix.
thats whats different about the original movie, those guys were able to pull off the serious parts of the movie, I dont think this movie will have ANY serious parts in it,
Sure there might be parts where there are no jokes or parts where the story is progressing, But I dont think any of this movie will feel serious. (Egon had many serious moments in the original)

This movie not withstanding, it is my experience that good comedians make very good dramatic actors, Tom Hanks and Robin Williams being just two examples.

I think nerds may have hated on the movie less if it had hot girls, but I think it would've been a worse film with Mila Kunis or Natalie Portman or Emma Stone or Jennifer Lawrence or Megan Fox or whomever.

Megan Fox should only act in silent movies.

With no clothes on.

Running.

A lot.

In between running scenes should be shower scenes.

I'm pretty sure Melissa McCarthy has more box office power than all the actresses I listed except for Jennifer Lawrence. So i'd say she's more popular... same with Kristen Wigg.

I don't think people flock to see Mila Kunis movies... hell I can't think of one where she's even the lead. Same with Emma Stone (except Easy A which I don't think has done as well as Wigg or McCarthy led films), Megan Fox or Natalie Portman (save Black Swan)

Just saw another article where Feig goes on and on about the hate for GB being misogynistic.

Note to Paul Feig: People hate it because it looks horrible and unfunny, I think very few people would care if it made them laugh.

He's just setting himself (and the movie) up as being victims of gender bias, so that when it fails, he can blame everybody but himself.

It's perfectly acceptable to hate this movie because it stars women.

Why? Not because of the fact that they're women, but because they tried to use gender politics to safeguard this movie from criticism and give it a progressive twist to boost it up. People saw right through that ********, and instead of helping the "muh diversity" agenda, it hurt it big time, this is NOT how you do diversity, you don't force this **** down people's throats anymore, people are tired of this.

Now if this looked like a good product, people wouldn't care, but on top of being force-fed this gender politic nonsense, the movie looks like utter ****.

It occurred to me that they knew the movie was ****, and they thought "I know, lets cast women, they won't say **** if we do that, and if they do, we call them sexist and Trump supporters" :lol

I'm so glad no one takes this 3rd wave feminism/SJW seriously anymore.

*this poor thread needed some Schwarzenegger

Finally someone to take on WWEJedi! :lol

Does Dave know you're back? :lol

Well, I put my name as clear as I possibly could and someone okayed it. I only came back really to post neat toy pics because I have too much and not a good outlet. So hey, if someone doesn't want me here, they can just tell me and I'll leave. I'm not here to fight or start ****.

Celt, you need to stick around... I know you were kicking around a little during Spook in the freak chat room. The past is the past. It's been years now, I think somebody needs to let it go..

I'm also opposed to taking pop culture from one group to give it to a more politically fashionable group. There are plenty of comedy movies targeted at women. Why take one that so many men and boys grew-up with and cared about, and re-jigger it for a different demographic that didn't give a good goddamn about the original? Why suggest taking James Bond -- a men's movie series if there ever was one -- and casting Gillian Anderson? Why must all new Star Wars movies center around female characters when it was the obsessions of 70s and 80s boys that made the franchise what it is today?

It shouldn't be politically controversial to keep longstanding franchises originally targeted at boys and men targeted at boys and men. If you want to make a chick spy movie with Gillian Anderson or Angelina Jolie ... make one, but don't call it a James Bond movie. If you want to make a sorority movie like Animal House, make one ... but don't call it Animal House. If you want to make a comedy about ghost-hunting chicks, make one ... but leave the Ghostbusters alone.

And, if you want some female heroes in Star Wars movies, put them in there. But, don't neglect your core audience.

lol the hatred for this movie is crazy. I doesn't even look that bad.... I grew up loving the original and don't think this looks so bad. My only complaint is that every damn movie these days has to be a remake or a sequel or something.

Also I think the newest star wars doesn't have that issue at all. In fact I think its quite funny because the whole build up I thought the other kid was the main character (maybe my own sexist mind?) and then as I'm watching the movie I got a nice kick out of the surprise that the chick was more or less the main character.

RIP Celtic. Again. Another nonsense banning for someone just sharing his opinions. I wonder if I'll get banned again for speaking out against his banning.

Oh well.

Sideshow Freaks = greatest MODs evar

I'm pretty sure they rebanned him cause he straight up said he was CP.

But, was it really necessary? Sometimes some mods follow the rules, sometimes they don't, depending of their terms with that person.
