I guess you're right.

I thought maybe the DiD clothing would fill out the shoulders on the TB a bit, but not to the degree that the DiD shoulders are. Sort of split the difference.

Too bad no one's taken a picture of the two naked bodies so we can see what the base bodies are like. I'll have to make a note to do that.

So, I've been messing around with my DiD Gimli, and honestly, even though it's nice and the scale is better, I like TB's bad-ass attitude much more...I'd love to customize things, but honestly I don't have the patience right now... I have lots of other projects that I need to do first...
So for now, I just added the DiD belt to the TB figure and use all the weapons from DiD,
it'll do for now!! he he he
Can't wait to see more pics of everybody else's customizations!

Honestly, if you just look at the face, dwing's TB Gimli repaint looks like the real guy.

Basically, dwing's is the TB head (repainted) and gauntlets on the DiD body with the DiD clothing. I believe he also used the DML chainmail for the arms. I think that's it. He'll chime in if there's any other detail. He had to trim (cut) the arms down a bit (1/4") to accomodate the gauntlets.

Pretty simple custom with available parts...at least we can all have a Gimli.

ToyBiz:
head + helmet
gauntlets (molded hands and vembraces)

DiD:
everything else...body, all clothing, axes

Extra:
DML chainmail for the arms

That Gimli looks great.

I guess I am on the hunt for a DID Gimli. Toy Anxiety has a few of his parts, but not enough to make up a full custom. And the Toybiz Gimli seems rather easy to find on ebay.

Whats the DID Gimli go for these gays?
