All of the nine did, I believe.

Gmili, yes, Gandalf no. He did not make the trip to Lothlorien where the cloaks were given, after the battle in Moria. It's one of the reaons I don't display the elven cloaks on my figures. I do wish SS had included Boromirs heavy cloak though. I just watched FOTR today and realized he wore it more often than not.

If anyone's interested, there are two Toybiz soft Gimlis currently up on eBay. One has a buy it now price of $29.95 while the other is up for auction with a starting bid amount of $14.99 with a few days to go. I can PM links if anyone is having trouble finding them.

Now why did you have to go and tell everyone about it? That one for $14.99 was going to be mine! :D

Yep, we all are aware of eBay... no need to alert others :lol

I was watching that one too, but I think I'll probably just hang back for a bit and let the fervor die down before getting a TB Gimli.

I'm starting to think that myself. I got the DID for $18.95, which I think is a pretty good price for it.

I don't think I'm ready to spend more than $5 to $10 for the roto and $10 to $15 for the soft, for a grand total of $35 to $50 for all 3 Gimli's to make my custom, so waiting for the demand to die down to get these guys cheaper sometime early next year might be the way I do it too.

At least I know that I'll 'eventually' have a killer Gimli in the set-up! :rock

Yeah, I'm hoping as its a kit bash I can keep it under around $60-$70 total. Basically trying to pay less than a Sideshow figure would cost.

I got the DiD for the same price and that seems fair, especially as it was well below retail. But the Toybiz figures are really just mass market fair, so I don't really want to pay an inflated premium on what should be fairly plentiful figures.

That's what I was going to add, that even with the currently inflated price, purchasing all three for the great looking Gimli is STILL cheaper than what I think Sideshow would charge for one. I think Sideshow would've priced him at about $80-$90 possibly more.

I'm sure he would've been a $90 figure, yes. In some ways, doing this kind of upgrade/combination was a little eye-opening. I'm actually happier with my Gimli than Legolas and Aragorn. I'm wondering what other figures this is possible for.

Sadly the other two Hobbits, I don't think would be available for this price bracket. We'd have to drop cash on Sideshow's and then even more in getting everything done. If you're talking other lines, I don't know. Especially with the resources of LOTR. Mass produced then all but forgotten by the masses it was produced for.

My Soft TB Gimli is coming in the mail today! :rock

Just YIM me when you get it. This part is easy. But you'll want to pick up a real razor bland and not just a box cutter.

I was mostly talking about LOTR. For example, the ringwraith and Gandalf the white, which have been touched on in the main LOTR customs thread. The other two hobbits are going to be harder because of the lack of decent sculpts.

I remember Dave talking about being disappointed with the DiD Gandalf The White outfit. I have a few more ideas, but I don't want to post anything until I see if they work out or not. :rotfl
