Like the eyes. Which they did his Spines better. Just too much of a gap.

He is also much smaller. But I guess he would be if done in scale to the 90's versions.

Of which, I am glad. I love the subtle nods to the original G.

Sakai's original Godzilla sculpts all show '54 influence, he can not only sculpt great pieces based on existing G's but design new ones too. I'm so bummed we never saw his 2000 realized in a movie, the final suit seems like a kid-friendly version, almost like a modern version of a Showa suit. Sakai's G2K is badass, I'm so glad there are at least easily had collectibles of it.

Was it you who mentioned that the reason that maquette design didn't make it into the film was the suit was lost and a different costume maker basically had to remake it from memory?
