Anyone here has regular BANPRESTO Shin Godzilla?
I'm thinking about gettin' one but it's hard to find good in-hands photos of it... :monkey2

Which regular are you referring to, first release or the Kamakura landing second release with updated paint apps?

Ah, I didn't know twas reissued... Kamakura landing, yes.

Yeah, there are 4 versions of the Banpresto sculpt out.

1. First Release - Black and red, the red applied a bit haphazardly and not overly film accurate.

2. Second Release (Kamakura Landing Version) - Black and red, paint apps more film accurate.

3. Atomic Ray Variant

4. Frozen Variant

While not as nice as the Banpresto sculpt, I’d suggest the Bandai boxed set with Form 2 and Form 3 plus frozen Shin because Bandai gave the tail the Form 5 feature, though technically when he’s first frozen matches to Banpresto.

I expected expensive. And I think I'll be happy with him once he arrives but I'm also selling pieces to trim the cost so idk if I'll be willing to do so again in this line. And this figure better be freaking bomb...like no seams or glue lines

It's cool....think I'm happy I went ric though. The color break up will look better on this figure.

This would look great if not for the over abundance of red where the spines get small before the tail piece attaches, there's like no black at all on his spines there. This is now the second variation of paint inconsistency we've seen, hope for those getting it that this piece isn't a big hit or miss for quality.

Easily remedied with some black acrylic paint. I'm still in shock that I just paid over 800 dollars for a VINYL figure. Fk.

Shouldn’t have to be remedied on an $800 vinyl, if they can’t do a good or complete paint job, then you’re paying $800 for a vinyl kit that’s built already.

Man, I just went from zero X-Plus figures to having Godzilla, Ghidorah and now I just grabbed Gigan off of ebay. Just those three alone is a small fortune, I need to reel it in for a bit I think. I also have Mothra and Anguirus on pre-order. Need to find a decently priced Rodan and MechaG but so far no luck.
How do you guys display these? Standard "stick em' on a shelf" kinda thing or has anyone tried to create a miniature city or terrain kind of thing?

It’s remarkable how Shin has captured the hearts of Godzilla fans.

It really seems like the community has now fully embraced this version.

I think the actual film has played a big part. When it was just photos early on, people were weary of what the odd tail tip would mean, some of the leaked images made it seem like some weird zombie Godzilla. Once the film came out and everyone realized that most of the unique features were merely aesthetics and that overall he was a traditional and powerful Godzilla, I think it was easier to welcome. Up until the third act and even then still not heavily until the very last seconds, the odd tail tip hardly had any presence in the film, and the final result feels a lot like the '54 and '84 Godzillas. For some, I think Shin's unique atomic ray won them over.
