Just saw this today. Though I didn't like it as well as the first one, I still enjoyed this one a lot.

RIP Yondu. :(

I loved the tape bit.

Rocket: Did you ask Nebula?
SL: .........yeah
Rocket: Are you sure?
SL: I asked Yondu and Nebula was sitting right next to him.
:rotfl

But I hated how Han was handled from the start.

Yondu I liked.

Yondu was an ugly man who's death was given impact, a daddy who sacrificed himself for his adopted son and was rewarded for it.

Han had his ship taken.

Yondu was handled very well. Han not so much but that is all punishment for bagging a minor. you lose your flying home and your cool dog that walks upright.

Caught this tonight, I guess it's decent?

A lot of good comedy but a lot that also fell flat.

Yondu and Drax were the best parts.

More endings than Return of The King.

Horrible CGI at times and bland art direction. (Rocket looked great though).

The entire gold people plot could have been edited out and we would end up with a tighter, less boring narrative.

Why do the gold people need the guardians in the first place? they seemed well enough equipped.

Chris Pratt looked and acted bored.

Funeral scene was too long, who cares about space pirate funerals? Yawn.

If I see another 80's action star hamming it up in these films I might puke, what happened to the MCU's flawless casting?

On a side note, I love seeing MCU fannies praising this iffy soundtrack, when SS did it better and it didn't feel forced and matched the emotion on screen. Yet, was blasted for it.

all 5 after credit scenes were pointless, and just thrown in by Gunn thinking they would be funny. Nope.

Ego's plan/purpose was beat over our heads to the point where I was bleeding from my nose. Lazy filmaking, not smart.

6 James Gunn's wearing scarves on a summers day/10

The only thing SS had going for it was they had some cool songs. Other than that the entire movie soundtrack sounded like someone had musical ADD and just kept hitting the next song button when they got bored of the current song.

Anyone who thinks Yondu is cooler than any version of Han can go ahead and block me. :D :lol

Still though ZaCH how does a 2bit 6th tier character get such a heroic meaninful death and send off while Han freaking Solo gets treated no different than if he was just a stormtrooper who died.

You know, that's true. Even when they returned to the resistance base at the end. Leia went to Rey like she was Han's friend. Cherie didn't even grieve until later. There should have been a funeral, a rememberance or something. Han gets shafted more ways than one in TFA.

if you think about it, it wasn't even that heroic. i saw it coming from a mile away, and that funeral scene is so horrible.

I didn't think either were great, but it felt a lot more natural and effective in this film than Suicide Squad to me. Which was disappointing, since the trailer made me think music would be used much more effectively than it was in Suicide Squad.

Oh and SNIKT1950 lied about no shifting aspect ratios. LIED! This movie had changing ratios galore, even with tons of 3D gags of objects "coming out of" the letterboxing (Yondu's arrow, the Ravager ship, and then his ashes at the end) for the non 1.85:1 scenes.

But anyway, I'll leave everyone else to their GOTG2 lovefest if that's the general consensus.

Did you do IMAX, LieMAX or just regular?
