Just got out the 7pm showing and this movie was my definition of a perfect movie and is on par with Avengers for me. Hell, right now, I feel like it was actually BETTER but let's see how I feel after multiple viewings.

If anything, I don't think I've ever had so many swings of emotions from a movie before. It starts right off the bat and it doesn't let up until the film roll ends:lol

Not sure if these have been posted yet, but here are the new Mondo GotG posters:

I finally got to see this last night. My most anticipated movie of the 2014.

It was..... pretty good~ Not as great as I wanted it to be. Actually... my unrealistic expectations probably spoiled it a bit. I was expecting gut bursting laughs and epic battle sequences that would match the Avengers. It didn't deliver on that end. However it was still a great time at the movies.

The 2 hour runtime just wizzes through and I left the theater craving more.

Cons:
- I HATED that end battle with Ronan. Seriously...? Instigating a Dance Off to distract him? For a cold blooded no-bulls***t villan, he would stand there for 2 minutes letting you dance in front of him (when he dosen't even know what a dance-off is), and delay destroying a planet he has been yearning for years and years? Would Drax delay annhilating Ronan or Thanos (if he had the power) if they started dancing? Lazy script writing. If Rocket ran out and made a cuddly adorable face and started to hump Star Lord's leg, that would be just as rediculous but at least more entertaining.

- The characters get to tell us their sad backstories.TELL US through dialouge, and not show us. I'm not asking for a 10 minute sequence devoted to each Guardian. But like... when Rocket tells us how he was experimented and put together, a quick 30 sec. montage of him in a surgery room, with him screaming in agony couldn't have been too much to ask. Gamora - like a 30 sec. scene where her people and her parents are dead on the floor with her scared (or emotionless) and Thanos reaching for her hand. Drax- am almost dying Drax, looking as Ronan walks away after killing his family - 10-15 seconds MAX.

- Some scenes were actually funnier in the trailer. "I have part of a plan" comes to mind, and a few more

- Drax was pretty 1-Dimensional and not as cool as he could have been. Well... then lets make jokes at his expense. If they made him more like Kratos from GOW, it would have been better. Nebula sucked too. She virtally did nothing or said anything, apart with her 2 min. fight sequence with Gamora.

- One more nitpick: It annoyed me that there were so many Human looking "aliens" in the galaxy. I know theres a budget, but when you establish a world where citizens from across the galaxy all interwine. Well... when you see a bunch of human looking characters, its kinda distracting. The prison sequence probably 6 out of every 10 inmates look Human. I had the same nitpick for Thor 2.

Pros

- Apart from the above, this movie was very enjoyable
- Groot has his "Puny God" moment
- Rocket was great as was Groot
- Its a fresh change of pace, when its not dark and moody all the time. In fact the mood was mostly - lets relax and have a good time
- The music was awesome
- Colorful
- The enjoyable moments are spread apart very evenly - Enjoyable throughout

Solid 8.5/10 for me

Great emotional rollercoaster.

Lots of action.

No boring parts.

Great villains.

Lots of fun.

Incredible end to an already incredible 2014 CBM season.

WTF WAS MARVEL THINKING WITH THAT AFTER CREDIT SCENE WHEN AOU IS UP NEXT, HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY, WAY TO GO THERE MARVEL! :slap BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT THIS SIDE OF TDKR!

Great movie though!

:lol AoU needs NOTHING else to create anymore excitement for it and there's really nothing to gain from anything being attached to this movie. Thanos is the only thing needed and it's nice to know that they're still headed there but still have a ways to go. You'll get more connections in GotG2.

I was impressed. GUARDIANS did NOT disappoint on any level.

But what was the point of getting Bradley Cooper to do a Hank Azaria impersonation? Why not just hire Hank Azaria?

I hope he shows up in the Sequel teaming up with Rocket or something

Movie was pretty fun. Dad and I both enjoyed it. It was a nice movie to see with the **** I've had to deal with the last 24 hours.

Was not looking forward to this. Just looked cheesy in the trailers. Glad i was wrong. Action was top notch and the humor just worked well. And im not one to laugh much and prefer the movies with a more serious tone. But i laughed a ton and did enjoy the music moments. When Star-Lord has his mask on he went into pure badass mode. Big thumbs up!
