I'm gonna go see it again tomorrow night.

Don't get me wrong, i love the movie, but seriously....
that "dance-off" with Star Lord stalling Ronan. It didn't annoy any of you? That was the stupidest lazy script writing / baffling scenes in the whole movie (in a bad way).

This dosen't top Avengers in my book. But, 2hrs haven't flew by faster and more enjoyable for me all year.

If Ronan didn't already appear like an over-the-top moron when he snaps a certain crony's neck, he solidifies his cosmic stupidity when he stands there and says "What are you doing?!" to Quill. Easy come easy go for any Marvel villain not named Loki.

Pretty sure someone already posted that those who loved this movie aren't looking for anything logical, can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with and just want to watch the world burn, blah-blah-blah... Z-z-z-z-z-z...

Like I've said before, I have mastered my hate to the degree I can still hate while liking something. For Guardians I have small pockets of hate, but it's not enough to hold me back from liking it.

The only thing I hate about GotG is that it wasn't as artistic and unique as I imagined.
But I'm an idealist, that's my personal problem :lol

The dance off got one of the biggest laughs. His sheer contempt in delivery of "What are you DOING?!" :lol

If he got to the cabbage patch, Ronan's head would have exploded anyway I guess.

I liked the dance off challenge thing. I mean, how couldn't you? I'd question if you had a soul.

There's a point where Star Lord tries to get Gamora in on it and she shakes her head and he's like "takin' it back". I thought it was great.

The dance was totally within his personality, why would anybody think the character would do something else? Like what? Try to reason with the guy? That conversation would've been a lot worst.

It was a character moment for Quill, but it made Ronan look like a cosmic dumbass. :lol

I loved that dance "duel" moment against Ronan. Yeah sure, Ronan was kind of a lame villain ("boooy" as Thanos said) and also looked very lame, his expression and face paint made it look like he was going to cry anytime. But I never cared about the villain. The movie was more about the story of the Guardians and how they got to know each other and how they teamed up. I suppose we'll see a real villain in the second movie.

:lecture This.

If you don't like it, maybe watching Superman destroy half of Metropolis and then snapping Zod's neck might be more up your alley.

:D

How about we'll swap em out: Quill distracts Superman away from Metropolis and the Tornado sucks up Ronan.

The dance off was funny and totally what Quill would do to distract Ronan.

Quill, to me, is a fly by the seat of his pants guy and thinks on the go. It doesn't always look good or make sense but it works more times than not. :lol

The theater I was in burst out laughing and it was fun to watch! :lol

I actually thought Ronan was one of the more vicious villains in the MCU...up to that dance off:lol Plus, I really like his design in the movie.

I think the dance-off is going to be an iconic scene years from now, whether you thought it was cool or not. Kind of like people say "nuke the fridge" and you instantly know what they are talking about. "Dance-off" will be synonymous with GOTG from this point forward which is funny since it wasn't actually a dance movie.

It was Quill's "shoot the Cairo swordsman" moment and it will be funny if they try to milk it again (kind of like when Indy tried to draw his missing pistol on the two swordsmen in TOD.) I can totally see Star-Lord facing Thanos or something and all he can think of is to start dancing again but he just gets blasted.

:lol :lol :lol

And then Thor will have to step in and save the day.
