I think the Collector is definitely a "bad guy" in the sense that he imprisons sentient creatures indefinitely as a hobby. The only reason the other "good guys" don't treat him more seriously is because his doing so to maybe a few hundred creatures is lightweight compared to the ambitions of other "bad guys" in the Marvel U. And also because, I guess, he's seen to serve an important purpose in some instances, like in the Dark World post-credits scene.

I think he's also doing it in a weird legal sense. I mean he asked Groot to sign a contract to be apart of his collection…in the event of Groots death of course :lol

Yeah, they don't explore that so much, but it's possible that everyone there agreed to be there. Maybe even his former assistant, as it could be part of the employment agreement. Howard didn't seem to be too distressed about being there, though some of the other characters in the background looked pretty dang bummed out! Maybe they lost a bet or something, or were slaves that were sold or traded, in which case they might be better off than they could have been.

Yeah, I'm sure there's a lot of swindling and "fine print" going on. I wonder how that Chitauri got there.

Finally saw GotG.. have to say I'm putting it in the same box as Days of Future Past, I wanted to like it hugely, but ended up hoping the next installment raises the bar.. in particular I felt Drax could have been written out of the script and it would have made very little difference to the plot.. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is imho, a much better film than both DoFP and GotG.

I just got the Art of Book in. It's packed with all kinds of hotness. Here's some teaser pics. :)
